Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby is really shaping up to be the movie event of the summer, surprising since it features nary a superhero nor world-shattering explosion.
As this explosive new trailer reveals, however, it does feature new music from Beyoncé and André 3000, Lana Del Rey and Florence + The Machine.
Oh, and a lot of yelling. Like, a LOT.
But it’s understandable — we are talking new Bey after all. For the record, it’s a cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black.”
How about we take this to the next level?

They’ve been promo-ing this movie for a year. It looks very expensive, but it doesn’t look very good… and what’s it doing on this website? Is there something gay about it?

@yaoming:
I second ALL that. They must be on this site for advertising dollars. Get that money queerty! No shame in keeping the site up!
It really does look garishly expensive though. I think because it has LeoD, (who no doubt requires A LOT of money to have in a movie), JayZ on soundtrack (again, expensive), and the costuming receiving help from Miuccia Prada, this movie is essentially a circle jerk of money that they want us to pay for. Personally, Ive read the book and watched two of the older renditions and I have no desire to pay full ticket price for expensive recycling. Even if Lana del Ray and Florence and the Machine appear to be on the soundtrack…Which I will probably buy.
