Imagine walking down Vienna‘s infamous Ringstrasse en route to the Vienna State Opera with your loved one. Emperor Franz Joseph opened Vienna’s Ringstrasse on May 1, 1865, and 2015 will mark the 150th birthday of this grand boulevard. Walk in footsteps of the Habsburgs at the Schönbrunn and Belvedere palaces, take in the expansive Naschmarkt, and people watch at Cafe Berg before exploring Vienna’s nightlife.
Vienna is a glorious European capital that is any couple’s romantic fantasy come to life.
Just ask local couples:
Caspar & Kristoffer, Petra & Jess, Marko & Gerd, Marlene & Silvie, Martin & Max are same-sex couples living in Vienna who have shared their favorite spots in Vienna on the campaign’s website. These spots include the Natural History Museum, Butterfly House, and the Schönbrunn Palace Park.
The winners of the contest will be captured, freeze style, sharing an intimate moment like Caspar and Kris–the ridiculously cute couple photographed (above) at the Natural History Museum. The resulting video will be posted on a Vienna microsite with a personal history.
In total twelve gay and lesbian couples will be introduced on the site by the end of 2014. Potential candidates should submit a photo and a short text about their romance on the site. Winners will receive four nights for two at a hotel to explore the city. Walking through the Sisi Museum in the Hofburg Palace will surely inspire a romantic memory as would cocktails at the quaint Felixx Lounge, and the impressive Naschmarket.
That’s where you’ll be filmed at the end of your dream-come-true trip; the video will be presented on Queerty and GayCities. Apply today!
