11 Warm Sands Public Sex Cruisers Take Plea Deals To Avoid Sex Offender Registry

Eleven of the fourteen men arrested in the the parking lot of the Vista Grande Resort in Palm Springs’ Warm Sands district back in June 2009 have, as expected, reached plea agreements with prosecutors that have them pleading guilty to disturbing the peace or lewd conduct. The misdemeanor charges slap them with three years probation $1,084 in fines and fees, but no requirement to register as sex offenders. Two other defendants had charges against them dropped, while one other man is continuing his battle in court, claiming the police entrapped him. And if he succeeds? Those 11 men sure are going to feel shitty.

To bear the lifetime stigma of being labelled a ‘sex offender’ is pretty draconian, considering that these men were prolly only doing the ‘mo version of what straights do all the time in lovers’ lanes across the country. Kudos to the one brave guy who refused to be intimidated. Please keep us posted on how he does.
