Online, the Post‘s Michael Starr story about Nicole Scherzinger beating Evan Lysacek on Dancing With The Stars was headlined “‘Dancing’ Doll beats ice king.” In print, it was “‘Dancing’ Doll beats ice queen.” Does this make the newspaper homophobic? Does it mean they updated their web headline after realizing the gays might complain? Does it mean the Post swings both ways? [via]
The ‘Post is somewhat conservative. The original (print) headline is most likely in line with editorial policy; the online edition was likely updated after complaints from Lysacek’s publicist. This is contrary to their usual trick: the online headlines are normally exaggerated more so than their print counterparts to attract visitors. Linkbait is necessary given the need to draw users to ads.

Do we know this queen’s, er, king’s sexual orientation?
·
Did you get the “beat” double entendre? i.e., beat = jerk off
·
The only one confused is you, Chris.
Lice-a-chick is a bigger Mary than Quentin Crisp on Pride Day popping out of a Prada float while singing “I Will Survive.”

still hawter than Johnny or the jealous queens on here….and that will never change…
·
Alas, Evan was only queen for a day (in the Post).
·
The Post is known for their headlines and not their content.
