HIGH ART

Giddy Up! See My Little Ponies Get Reinvented Into Fierce Gay Icons

Artist Mari Kasurinen has knocked our socks off with her My Little Ponies. Yes, you read that correctly. Her My Little Ponies.

Or as she calls them, her My Little Pop Icons.

The 30-year-old Finnish artist lives and works in Lahti, Finland. She recently sent us an image of her latest creation, a My Little Pony doll inspired by the work of none other than homoerotic artist Tom of Finland.

“I make art because it’s pretty,” Kasurinen says. And we’d have to agree.  Her Little Ponies are some of the most beautiful we’ve ever seen, particularly the ones featuring our most favorite gay icons.

Scroll down to see more of Kasurinen’s gay icon-inspired geldings. And check out more of her amazing work on her website.

This Little Pony is supposed to be Cleopatra. But she reminds us more of Madonna from the 2012 Superbowl.

This Little Pony is meant to be Marilyn Monroe. But we can’t help but see Miss Amanda Lepore.
