Somewhere inside the head of former Arkansas governor and current gibberish pundit Mike Huckabee, there is a tape playing on loop, repeating the words “IAMRIGHT, IAMRIGHT, IAMRIGHT.” To be fair, Huckabee is right about many things, like when he told a reporter that RNC chairman Michael Steele is a liability for Republicans. But then he veers off the path of rational conclusions (which is different from rational thought), with these zingers:
• On gay marriage: “You don’t go ahead and accommodate every behavioral pattern that is against the ideal. That would be like saying, well, there are a lot of people who like to use drugs, so let’s go ahead and accommodate those who want who use drugs. There are some people who believe in incest, so we should accommodate them. There are people who believe in polygamy, so we should accommodate them.”
• On gays adopting: “I think this is not about trying to create statements for people who want to change the basic fundamental definitions of family. And always we should act in the best interest of the children, not in the seeming interest of the adults. Children are not puppies. This is not a time to see if we can experiment and find out, how does this work?”
That’s right, gay parents. You are just experimenting with child rearing.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

Huckabee is right about one thing–there are millions of people in this country, including politicians, scientists and police officials, who want to legalize drugs.

… and there are probably even more who are getting tired of our tax dollars being used to prosecute and maybe jail 20 year olds for being caught with a couple of joints in their pockets – we’d rather have the justice system used to lock up criminals who break into people’s homes.

At least we apply federal laws equally to drug users. Huckabee, on the other hand, wants one law for straights and one law for gays.
If anything, it’s Huckabee who wants to accommodate the phobias and prejudices of those who don’t like gays. Mr Huckabee, my country belongs to me as much as it does to you, so fuck off.

Mike says straights practicing a political advantage over a sexual minority makes them idealists? No wonder he confuses good living with rhetoric, he doesn’t know the truth of either. What an intellectual and ethical pygmy.

Huckabee thinks that sterile people should not be married either.
“But even anatomically- let’s face it, the only way that we can create the next generation is through a male female relationship. For 5000 years of recorded human history, that’s what marriage has meant. 30 states have had it on the ballot and in all 30 states, it’s passed- even in states like California, that nobody would suggest are social conservatives, leading the state of California.”
Are we really worried that the population will completely die out, if gay people get married? IDIOTS

It is ironic that Huckabee would bring up dog-rearing, especially since Huckabee’s son tortured and killed a dog while he was a counselor at a Boy Scout Camp. What would really be better is if intolerant bigots like Mike Huckabee weren’t allowed to raise children.

Let’s remember that Huckabee referred to the recent Healthcare Reform as something akin to “Lenin or Stalin” would dream up. In 1965 similar arguments were made about Medicare.
Let’s also remember that several European countries have allowed same sex marriage w/ no statistically adverse impact on society or on male-female marriages. Olson & Boies (anti-prop 8
lawyers whose names I prob spelled wrong) successfully argued that issue in the recent trial. The pro-prop-8 witnesses were unable 2 provide better evidence…

As a descendant of concentration camp survivors I really don’t see a vast difference between Huck’s use of “ideal” and the nazi “ideal”.The same rationale was put forth to round up gays and jews during the Holocaust and as a gay jew I have a foot in both camps.
How far would he would he go? Along Huckabee’s train of thought we don’t make “ideal” neighbors to straight families because we might “influence” them with our gayness. Same with jobs. We are not ideal enough to be around superior straights.
Does not sound too farfetched in the rightwing mind and mood in the country today.
Huckabee and his ilk would have no problem putting us all in a ghetto we would not choose for ourselves.

People like Huckabee and the other self-righteous right-wing Republicans just makes my decision on which party to vote for so much easier and enjoyable!

Huckabee would be a perfect running mate for Sarah Palin: both are utter morons, both get a paycheck from FOX Noise, and both think life began on earth 6,000 years ago and dinosaurs and humans co-existed.
They’re the ultimate GOP freakshow.
