The Lovely Nigerian Town That’ll Welcome You With a Stoning

While some Ugandan lawmakers are doing their best to criminalize the activities of practicing homosexuals, their African neighbors to the northeast in Nigeria are promising to crack down on any old homo. The town of Ebem Ohafia in the southern state of Abia “has placed a total ban on homosexuality.” Speaking at the 2010 Cultural Carnival, local leader Eze Ukoha Kalu promised his community would stone anyone found out to be gay.
