Dennis Piters, 17, is the fourth suspected Latin King Goonie to be set free after three weeks in jail. Prosecutors dropped charges, telling a judge they don’t have “sufficient evidence to prove a case beyond a reasonable doubt” that he was involved in the Bronx gay bashing. Responded Piters’ attorney: “He did not take part in it. He’s not a homophobe, he’s not anti gay. He happened to be buddies with a couple of guys who — well, we’ll see what the grand jury says about them.” [NYP]
