Why is a sunburn considered newsworthy? I know the majority of the gay community are vain shallow materialistic and all about seeing “celebs”. Especially when there’s a chance of seeing them with a shirt off or nude (like we haven’t seen enough of that crap), but some of us would like to see something other than aging queens trying desperately to hold onto their youth with ducklip shirtless gucci slippered pics or sitting by the pool trying to prove to his ex like he’s moved on……

Looking at some of these comments I wonder why straights bother to attack us. We attack ourselves enough for both groups. No one cares that Colton is a 30 y/o actor/singer making his way in Hollywood, which is not as friendly to us as we would like to believe. Instead, we are treated to catty remarks, etc. Truth is most of you would probably have a heart attack if he asked you out. Not that he would ask most of you out, not with those attitudes. Okay, now you can attack me for standing up for one of our own doing his best.

Well, this is the internet. Bitter trolls ruin everything. However, I can somewhat understand why some are tired of Colton, though this level of dismissivness and vitriol is unnecessary. He isn’t particularly relevant in the industry and frankly isn’t particularly talented. It does get a little leery that our most vocal and celebrated “representation” tend to be attention mongering pretty boys without a ton of intellect and/or talent to offer. However, there being so many closeted gay/homo-leaning men and there being so much shame exuding from many of the ones that are out isn’t Colton’s fault. It’s also not his fault that Queerty and other sites make an article out of every little thing he says and does. And I do appreciate him being honest about his struggles and mental health issues instead of using his platform entirely to promote selfies and indulge narcissism, which he of course still does a lot of.

Mr. Haynes is truly an extraordinary handsome young man. But he does need to look up and find a place to purchase Blue Lizard sunscreen from Australia! And to all my friends who love the sun, same recommendation. It is absolutely the best. A little expensive, a little difficult to use, but no sunburn!
