D.C. Alterna-Queer Site The New Gay Goes Bye-Bye

Washington D.C. based alterna-queer site The New Gay has announced that it is closing down, bringing an end to its four years of entertainment interviews and counter-cultural screeds. Ever since Zack Rosen stepped down as editor, the site began posting only the occasional music clip and social calendar.

LGBT music lovers in the nation’s capitol can still get their fix at the Beat Music Facebook page. And as for Rosen, he just wrote a girl’s guide to guy-on-guy buttsex, so we probably haven’t seen the last of him.

The New Gay isn’t exactly my cuppa (I’m not their target alt guy), but any time a decent LGBT site goes down, it’s a loss. In their prime they had some thoughtful pieces and reviews. I’m glad Zack found a new ‘gig’ because he’s often a good read.

It was funny, but I will admit I stopped checking it out as much after the main person left.

Was that article mistitled? Shouldn’t it be a look on man-on-man buttsex, not a guide? Girls can’t get in on man-on-man action. Anyway, I’m sad to see it go.
