I feel sorry for you that you don’t understand that: A. Just because the boy chose a girl-doll that doesn’t mean he’s gay. 2. That the best parent allows their child to be who they ARE (at the tender age of 4/5?) C. And in your mind “guiding in the right direction” means changing what comes naturally. – While playing with a doll isn’t like robbing and killing, it still isn’t a good thing. Effeminate activities are not like sexual orientation. They aren’t part of your nature and they can be put aside and replaced with other activities. There is no upside to his playing with dolls and a big downside, in that it will set him apart from other boys. You need to have male peers as you grow up. It’s important. Losing that will hurt the kid’s development. I never had any desire to play with a doll when I was a kid, but if I did, I would want my dad to steer me away from that. I took karate and played baseball and made lots of friends. It was the best. It would have been a catastrophe to miss out on boyhood all because my dad wanted to turn me into a doll-playing feminist social experiment.

I’d like to see these studies because I was just looking and most of them seem to be from very suspicious sources or pre-1990s.
I know several males that are either now teenagers or adults that played with dolls.. all had friends and are socially fine ( all straight by the way)
Both genders play with dolls by the way. I did Things Considered “boy things” and I’m fine. I think you need to join us in 2017 and get out of the 1950s.

I remember when action figures were considered dolls by “macho men”. Anyway I kinda agree with the guy above who said teaching or encouraging your son to be feminine is setting him up for failure. Honestly the world doesn’t facilitate a man acting like a woman. By that I mean a man can’t “marry well” and be “taken care of”. A man can’t stand down in a fight and hope for the best. A man can’t talk his way out of being written up by a cop. A man can’t decide he doesn’t want to do something and therefore will not do it.
The list goes on and on. Is it right or fair? No not really. But it is what it is.
I’m not some “butch” alpha male who barks and puffs up his chest. But I can turn it on and off when I have to because FACE IT you have to at some point in your life. If you claim you don’t then you’re fooling yourself or hiding in a gay ghetto.
Men don’t have the option of not being men the majority of the time. You will have to give up the femme stuff at some point unless you imprison yourself in a gay/queer safe space and never leave.
It’s also cringy when supporters claim that we’re choosing our sexuality. It pretty much supports what others sad that the dad is probably gay since he’s implying he had a choice in the matter.

What is it about gay men,.? The article was meant to offer an example of a healthy parent attempting to raise a healthy child, but the greatest discussion is focused on outing dad. Sexuality will never not be a discussion when it continues to be something that so many feel they need to discuss and focus on. Who cares if dad is gay..the only ones it should matter too are the focus of the article. Treat others how you want to be treated, otherwise don’t bitch.
