John McCain aide Nancy Pfotenhauer appeared on Fox News today to decry this Thursday’s vice-presidential debate, where poor Sarah Palin will have to discuss things she doesn’t understand, like foreign policy, a subject in which opponent Joe Biden will likely dominate.
Fox’s Steve Doocy then remarks, “It sounds like they’re stacking the deck against her, because everybody knows that’s Joe Biden’s forte.” Boo-fucking-hoo.

Its not like Palin should be expected to know anything about foreign policy or anything. Its not like she is campaigning to be one 72 year old heartbeat away from the presidency.
Oh wait, she is….

Those GOP mofos are unbelievable!
Darth Paul
That’s what they get for not picking a QUALIFIED and coherent token female, like Olympia Snow, Susan Collins, or Kay Bailey Hutchinson.
I hope Palin chokes.

Can’t stand the heat, go back to Alaska.

Why do they think everyone should take it easy on her? Does anyone think Putin would after Peepaw buys the farm and puts her dumbass in the White House?

I’m thinking Fox News wants the Republicans to win reelection, and they are essentially preaching to the choir 24 hours a day.
References to what Fox News has to say are almost invariably going to inflame the readership of this blog — except all the Log Cabin Republicans who are regular readers.
We need to know our enemy however.
If you check the polls, the electoral college picture is looking worse and worse for McCain/Palin. People can only take so much.
Barring any October surprise, it looks like the Republicans are going to be out of the White House in a few months. Oh happy day that will be.
Then the fox news viewership can go back to their most comfortable position, “grouchy opposition.” They sure messed it up when they were in charge.

Ummm… Are we missing the fact that Sarah Palin was picked for VP after Joe Bidon? You mean to tell me that republicans didn’t know this when they picked her? And this ass wipes wanna run this country when they can’t even do proper research on their choice for VP.
CHURCHILL-Y
Joe Biden’s only forte are the continual gaffs he makes, oh wait those don’t qualify as forte.
Just wait and see.

As always, the right wing, Republican, Christian Reich is being
“victimized”. Its pathetic. Also Americans are not concerned about foreign things, well if the war in Iraq is any indication then she may be right on that one. But I guess international terrorism and our completely fucked up economy has absolutely nothing to do with
the rest of the world. Jesus, no wonder everyone is realizing that the U.S. is a fucked up mess and they had better start looking away from it for their own economies.
Chapeau
Cry me a Freaking River already.
IOW, SHE’S NOT QUALIFIED TO BE VP of USA.

I’m going to break with my personal rule here for a bit and respond to “CHURCHILLY-Y,” but note that I am only doing so because of the great pleasure it gives me.
Dude, remember when you told us that Obama would choke during the debates because his only talent is reading from a teleprompter? “You’ll see,” you said. Yep, we saw alright. We saw Obama hold his own (and then some) during a debate over foreign policy which, supposedly, would favor McCain. Now you tell us to “Just wait and see” what happens during the Biden-Palin debate. Ha! I for one cannot wait for this debate. It will be hard for SNL to write a skit any funnier than the performance Palin is bound to give! If Biden makes a few gaffes, no one will possibly remember them after the litany of ignorant and half-literate remarks Palin will surely make.
Also: Schadenfreude is so, so sweet.

Be careful! They’re deliberately trying to lower expectations so if she does mediocre or just OK she turns out as the “winner.” Best not to underestimate her UNTIL she blows it. She has greater political skill than many give her credit for, despite her very apparent lack of depth displayed during the Couric interview.

Palin will simply blurt out the aphorisms she’s been coached to blurt out. This is all she can do. Biden has to derail her and go on the attack exactly the way Obama did not (but should have) during the most recent Presidential debate. I do tend to agree with Churchill-y (jeebus, did I just write that?), if only this once. This is Biden’s debate to lose, and lord knows the Dems are expert at ruining their own leads. No kid gloves, no mercy. We want a bloodbath for a change, pretty please? I might suddenly muster up some pride in my own country.
bobito
Sarah Palin will have plenty of opportunity to demonstrate her ‘forte’ in this debate, which as we all know by now is her perkiness and ability to look pretty-ish in glasses. It will be enough to convince some people, especially those who are already convinced.

Very strange,
Just a few months before she came. The GOP was calling Barack “The Messiah” and “Not Ready to Lead” and a “Celebrity”
WOW How has tables changed! Regardless of (P) or (VP)
All the same and she wouldn’t not be ready to lead if something happened to McCain.
That’s just a fact. Lets be realistic. If Barack answered Katie the way Sarah did.
That would give that portion of White America a even bigger reason not to vote for Obama and that same factor of folks will give forgive Sarah for these GOD AWFUL mistakes she’s making which goes to show.
What are some of us really voting for?
After all this financial shit going on there Blue collar votes in the Middle part of the country need to examine what’s before them.
Where as most of these folks are union workers and McCain is not for unions.
Jaxson67
McCain is in his 70’s you americans are a heart attack away from that woman being president

Would someone please permanently remove that condescending smile from Nancy Pfotenhauer’s face? Enough already …
