Making good on last year’s promise to push through a civil unions bill, Colorado’s gay State Sen. Pat Steadman told a gay rights rally yesterday in Denver he plans to introduce the legislation in the weeks to come. “This is something that I think is overdue, something that will protect families and will make our laws a little bit more fair, and a little bit more inclusive so that everyone has the same opportunity to have economic security and stability in their family relationship,” the Democratic lawmaker (seen here with his husband) told a crowd of 100 at the First Unitarian Society of Denver. Have fun getting your colleagues in the Republican-controlled House to get on board!

Oh, Queerty! Always so adorably cynical! đ
Republicans only control our House here 33-32, and a couple of republicans have already voiced support. Honestly, I’d almost go as far as to saying that this is a sure fire thing.
