Because GOProud, the conservative Log Cabin splinter group, does not have any money, it cannot just throw an advertisement up on the television airwaves. But YouTube? Sure! So they’ve crafted this dreary spot going after Obama, making all sorts of question mark statements about what his speech to HRC will mean.
So far the spot has only been viewed 63 times, so you can imagine what kind of “pull” GOProud has. But even if you’re the liberal type who can’t fathom how groups like GOProud even exist, all their statements resonate. And while GOProud’s executive director Jimmy LaSalvia may not have committed to a full-blown protest outside the dinner like other gay groups, we didn’t even need this video to tell us where they stood on Obama.

You’d get the impression that GOProud was concerned about President Obama not making progress on his agenda for LGBT issues, huh. But the problem is that that would be a best case scenario for GOProud and they would frankly have gay rights legislation rescinded rather than expanded. It’s simply an ad along the same lines as the rest of the GOP today, divide and conquer. Who cares about ethics and the truth when you’re not in power?
They are individuals who actively seek blocking class protection for jobs and housing to the LGBT community and are ambivalent at best on DADT, DOMA, gay marriage and other issues central to progressive civil rights for gay men and women.
They would be the group that a year ago could have made the same ad, with happy music and images of George Bush, praising him for making no promises of advancing gay civil rights and sticking to those promises. They think Log Cabin Republicans are sell-out socialist progressives if it puts things in perspective. It’s the reason they split from the group in the first place.

Oooooo….creepy Exorcist music. Now I’m convinced. Obama really is the devil.

I saw the headline, “Guess Who’s Preemptively Critical Of Obama’s HRC Speech?”, and immediately thought, ‘Ooh, is the answer ‘Queerty’?’
