Kellyanne Conway has announced that she is resigning from her role as Senior Counsel to President Donald Trump.

The announcement comes after a weekend in which her teenage daughter, Claudia, posted a series of tweets blasting her parents – her mom in particular – and claiming she was seeking emancipation from them.

Claudia Conway, 15, has previously used her platform on TikTok and Twitter to criticize her mom’s politics. It ramped up over the weekend, beginning with Claudia saying she was “devastated” that her mom would be speaking at the RNC this week.

This was followed by a tweet saying she was seeking emancipation from her parents.

A later tweet said her mother’s job had ruined her life, and that her mother was all about “money and fame.”

Kellyanne Conway’s husband, George Conway famously does not support Donald Trump and leads The Lincoln Project, a Republican-based political action committee dedicated to preventing the re-election of Trump as President. However, Claudia had little praise for him either.

In a subsequent statement released Sunday evening, Kellyanne Conway said she was stepping down from her role at the White House to spend more time with her kids. George Conway also said he was stepping away from the Lincoln Project to concentrate on “family matters.”

“I will be transitioning from the White House at the end of this month. George is also making changes,” Kellyanne Conway said.

“We disagree about plenty but we are united on what matters most: the kids. Our four children are teens and ‘tweens starting a new academic year, in middle school and high school, remotely from home for at least a few months. As millions of parents nationwide know, kids ‘doing school from home’ requires a level of attention and vigilance that is as unusual as these times.”

She said the decision was “completely my choice and my voice.”

She added, “In time, I will announce future plans. For now, and for my beloved children, it will be less drama, more mama.”

Husband George Conway tweeted, “So I’m withdrawing from @ProjectLincoln to devote more time to family matters. And I’ll be taking a Twitter hiatus. Needless to say, I continue to support the Lincoln Project and its mission. Passionately.”

In her most recent tweet, daughter Claudia said she was taking a break from social media and asked people to show, “no hate to my parents please.”

Many have greeted Kellyanne Conway’s announcement by taking to social media to remind the world of her record at the White House.
