LOOK: Gina Gershon As Donatella Versace

Gina Gershon, famous for playing Cristal Connors, the aging dancer in Showgirls, is back with a new role as Donatella Versace in the Lifetime biopic, Versace. (Not Versayce.) The film is an adaptation of the Deborah Ball’s book House of Versace: The Untold Story of Genius, Murder, and Survival. The film will focus solely on Donatella and her life after her brother’s murder. Today, Lifetime released a first look at Gershon as the fashion designer and she definitely has the lip-pursing down.

The film premieres on Lifetime on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 8 pm.

I see the resemblance. Like most actors playing a real person, she is much prettier than Donatella.

Still nowhere near the size of Donatella’s lips.

I’m super excited about this. I read the book three years ago and it is amazing. Gianni will always be one of the most iconic and innovative designers of all time. Even though it’s a lifetime movie and lifetime is known to be cheesy, I’m glad that they’re giving thi story a chance, because it isn’t a cheesy story. And I’m even more excited about the documentary that’s airing after (I love fashion docs).
