Patrick Wolf, the Elton John BFF and British techno pop singer who once refused any attempt to be labeled “gay,” announced on Twitter he accepted the New Year’s Eve wedding proposal of his boyfriend William Charles Pollock, who he’s been with since August 2007, just months after declaring “Sexually and romantically, I want to be free always.” To a long happy and healthy life together, gents!

who cares?

In that shirt he should be saying “warp speed, raise shields.”

Patrick Wolf is hardly techno pop Queerty. Considering the fact that he is one of the best queer musicians out there you really ought to get that right.

Oh my dear God. A bisexual man in love with a man! Whatever next!
He said: “My sexuality is kind of liberal. I fall in love with men and women. I guess you would call me bisexual. I like to have sex and fall in love – I don’t like giving terminology for my sexuality.”

Of course there’s no chance that this will last. You can’t trust these “Non-Gay” queers can you queerty? I mean look at Pete Burns.
andrew
Who? I live in London and I’ve never heard of him.
Jorge
Of course the out of touch old queens will start singing their chorus of, “who?”
David Ehrenstein
Anyone wearing a shirt like that is definitely out of touch.

@andrew: I had much the same reaction, and I’m fairly heavily into techno. Of course, if his music could be accurately described as “techno” I might have heard of him…
James
He’s not a techno artist, not by any means. But he is one of the best queer musicians currently working. He is just 27 and already has his 5th album coming out this year. In fact, his last album, The Bachelor, was largely a gay rights themed piece of work.

Every other gay news website I go to reported this story kindly. Of course Queerty has to be the one to make a snide comment on their main page headline.

Rather than ask “who” why not look? I’m a huge wolf fan, although his earlier albums are definitely his best. Wind in the wires is a mix of folk and electronica and one of my favourite albums of the decade.
From my window,
I saw two birds, lost at sea.
I caught our reflection in that silent tragedy.

What country are they going to be married in? Not UK, obviously…
Obama DID say DADT would happen on his watch... (John From England)
@slobone:
Gays in the UK call themselves married, never met one who says civil partnership or this is my partner after a civil wedding.
Wolf is big with the hipster scene. I remember a few years back when he was on EVERYONES lips and you HAD to like Wolf.
Also, his fiancee is very fit. Only 21 though. He’s also an heir. Daddy is the Viscount Hanworth.
Luke
@Obama DID say DADT would happen on his watch… (John From England):
Actually, he’s 22 (23 in April), and although he’s the heir to the Viscountcy of Hanworth, Lord Hanworth is his uncle, not his father.

Is this William Charles Pollock? http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/9984/6isiug.jpg
Obama DID say DADT would happen on his watch... (John From England)
@Luke:
How does that work? Did his dad die.?:-(
I always get confused with English lineage!
22 is still young!
drums
@Obama DID say DADT would happen on his watch… (John From England): no, his uncle just has no kids. If his dad had died then he doesn’t become someone else’s heir, he just becomes whatever his dad was. Heir = next closest relation of the younger generation (in this case).

The Observer it says he currently identifies as gay, so yeah the whole ‘man, woman, horse’ thing is kind of out of date.

I’m a fan of Wolf. I like his first and second albums best.
He’s talented and I think his music is quite different from others. Similarly, I like Florence and the Machine.
I am really happy for him and William!
I can’t buy his albums. There are no albums of his available in mainland China. It’s quite annoying.

I don’t understand the title. We finally have an openly pan/bi/fluid male celebrity who’s open about his sexuality, and queerty takes it upon them-stupid-selves to make a derogatory remark about him being “nongay.”
Seriously, queerty, go fuck yourselves. Not everyone who’s not straight is gay. Stop trying to erase us bi’s.
