RuPaul’s Drag Race queens have been releasing music videos to accompany their songs for quite a while now. While we saw the girls’ creativity, uniqueness, nerve and talent in the work room and on the main stage, watching them on film in their own music video is something quite different. So which queens killed it? Read on and find out the winners of the Drag Queen Music Video Awards and don’t forget to vote for your favorite in the poll at the end of this article!

Best Comedy Video

“Chow Down (at Chick-fil-A)”
DWV: Detox, Willam Belli and Vicky Vox

This video perfectly suits its irreverent and sarcastic song. The members of DWV look stunning as they sing about chowing down at the notoriously homophobic restaurant Chick-fil-A. Between their eating waffle fries and talking about Taco Tuesdays, the girl temper their scathing indictment of the fast food joint’s political views with sheer hilarity.

Choice Moment: Willam realizing that they put mayo on her sandwich after she asked them not to.

Most Sickening Moment: Detox rapping in the fountain.

Best Artistic Video

“Diamond Crowned Queen”
Raja

When Raja came out with a single, we all knew that her video wouldn’t be the run-of-the-mill pop music nonsense. In her video, Raja works the camera with her fierce looks, her “hair-ography”, and her amazing costumes. It’s not common for a queen to be shown both in and out of drag in her music video, but Raja pulls it off with style and finesse.

Choice Moment: Raven’s cameo.

Most Sickening Moment: The sequences with Raja’s all-white outfit.

Best Weird Video

“Ru Girl”
Alaska Thunderfuck

Like her former girlfriend, Sharon Needles, Alaska was never one for thinking inside of the box. So when her video game out, no one was expecting her to be anything other than Red for Filth, Alaska Thunderfuck. Between waking up in a bathtub with an empty box of Blue Ribbon on the ground, to her alien-like black contacts combined with blonde hair and a white underwear set, this video is sheer Alaska.

Choice Moment: The cartoon sequence describing the (fictional) way that Alaska got on Drag Race.

Most Sickening Moment: Alaska pretending to beat a season 6 contestant.

Best Sexy Video

“Welcome to Disgraceland”
Courtney Act

Right from the moment we saw Courtney Act pose in the pillow fight photo mini challenge, we knew that she could do sexy. But her videos show just how she can deliver a great song, a great video, and some racy film. In the video, Courtney powders her nose in the bathroom, gets frisked by the police, then dances the night away with her friends at a happening club. We never doubted Courtney for a second.

Choice Moment: Courtney making out with the police officer that can’t resist her beauty.

Most Sickening Moment: Dancing on stage with the other club goers.

Best Fashion Video

“Dressed to Kill”
Sharon Needles

As soon as Sharon took the stage in the first challenge of Season 4, she set herself apart from the other girls with her daring and dark style. When her video for Dressed to Kill was released, her fans were treated to a scintillating Sharon fashion show. Wearing multiple outfits while she sings and abuses her captive audience, Miss Needles stomps her way through the video with style and the stunning black edge that we know and love her for.

Choice Moment: Sharon turning on the lights and revealing the audience for her runway show.

Most Sickening Moment: Sharon dripping in goop and looking stunningly beautiful while she does it.

Best Vintage Video

“Coffee & Wine”
Jinkx Monsoon

Retro-inspired queen, Jinkx Monsoon, blew everyone away with her vintage impersonation of Little Edie on the Snatch Game in season 5. Through the show, she had one glamorous throwback look after another.

Her video for Coffee & Wine has blown everyone away—from her amazing costumes to the burlesque dancer’s skimpy get ups, this music video is filled with stunning, beautiful and vintage-inspired looks.

Choice Moment: Jinkx pouring wine on herself.

Most Sickening Moment: Jinks singing to the cat.

Best Overall Video

“Bitchy”
Phi Phi O’Hara

For Phi Phi’s drag video debut, no one was sure what to expect, but she blew everyone away with Bitchy. Not only is the song amazing and the video fantastic, it also highlights her powerful vocals. Phi Phi dazzles in one glamorous costume to the next. The overall effect is a video so impressively shot, acted and edited that it would be difficult to tell it apart from anything on MTV.

Choice Moment: Phi Phi dancing while silhouetted in pink.

Most Sickening Moment: Phi Phi smashing the TVs with a sledge hammer.

Drag Race stars show no sign of slowing down when it comes to music and music videos. We can’t wait to see what the girls come up with next!
