You may have thought online relationships were the exclusive territory of lustful teenagers clawing at adulthood, but plenty of folks get swept away by a virtual Romeo and find themselves in a precarious situation.
Is it best to keep the fling relegated to the interwebs and live out the romance novel in your head, or follow through and take things offline?
Can online ever be enough?
Below, guys vent their frustrations via Whisper:

Been there, and am doing that now. It’s fun, safe and easy to do for awhile. I want to meet my boyfriend, but he doesn’t, for a variety of reasons. Ultimately, it is rather unsatisfying, because there no physical intimacy possible.

This reminds me of a sci fi story where everyone in the future is scared to interact “IRL,” scared to have sex or even to touch. (Scared emotionally, not scared of disease.) They interact online but never in person.

Oh look it is the Weekly lame “article” from “real” people from whisper. Can always count on this bullshit on Sunday. Wonder which intern got the privilege to make these up.

@rand503: I’m going to ask you a couple questions and it may come across as rude, I’m sorry if that’s true, so please feel free to ignore me.
When you say “boyfriend” – what does that mean to you? If there is not physical contact, I would call that relationship pen-pals or friends.
Also, have you spoken on the phone or had live video chats, etc? Or is this strictly via online typing?
