Nobody was happy that Shangela didn’t make it into the top 2 lip sync on Drag Race All Stars season 3, but it’s safe to say some fans were more upset than others.
At the far end of that spectrum — these adorably devastated little girls, who literally broke down in fits of despair after Shangie didn’t get the opportunity to snag the crown (which, let’s be honest, she without question would have done).

It’s not that Trixie isn’t a deserving winner, but like Season 9, the stupid twists invalidated the point of the competition and ended up denying the crown to the person with the best record. So Trixie won… but I don’t see her as the winner.

That’s the issue. Season 2 had the problem where Detox and Alaska kept keeping Roxxy in and sent Alyssa etc… home.
In Allstars3, Trixie deserved to be in the top but she hadn’t won a single lip Sync, and Shangella had sent multiple people packing so there was a very good chance Shangella would have crushed the lip sync. So yeah, Trixie’s win has an asterisk next to it for me.

That *asterisk being that Ben Dela Creme would have won the crown if all the “twists and turns” were removed. No queen was going to be crowned this season without an asterisk after Dela left.

@Crystix you make a pretty excellent point. All of this would pretty much be moot if Dela hadn’t left and they didn’t do these twists. Dela has proven that she can crush a lip sync. I have always loved her since season 6, but what she showed on All Stars Season 3 before her exit…it blew me away. She has talent, she made me almost DIE laughing again and again. Of all the queens that legit deserved the crown based on talent and winning, with none of this side trimmings stuff, it WAS Dela. That being said, since she did choose to leave of her own accord because she hated sending girls home, I believe that the top two should have been Shangela and Trixie. But it is what it is. I am not mad at Trixie or crushed that she won. I’m a fan and these last few seasons have definitely taught me to expect the unexpected.

@Crystix Sure Ben could have won, but you can’t compare Ben and Shangela because Ben chose to go home.

So cute. Like the way little girls were crazy about Boy George in the 80s, with posters of him in their bedrooms. Such innocence tgat hasn’t been crushed by homophobia. Will Trixie always have this monkey on her back now? The Grace Kelly (Oscar) to Judy Garland in 1954?

Actually 1955 Oscar (the movies were 1954). The pretty blonde won while the legendary-worked her ass off-oozing with talent brunette, walked away empty handed. Lol.

I don’t think anyone blames Trixie or is pissed at her directly, nor do I think many people question her place in the top two of a seasons 3 sans Dela . I think poor Kennedy is going to have more of a monkey on her back over this than Trixie will.

Which is a shame as Kennedy and Trixie did nothing. If there’s blame, it should be levied at the Jury who clearly voted based on more than deservedness. I include Ben in that as I think, as the front runner all season, it was extra petty of her to not recognize the person who was right behind her all season.

I still don’t understand why Ben left, I was rooting for him the whole time, he dominated the competition, I just don’t understand why he left out of no where, even Rupaul was taken by surprise.
After that I started rooting for Shangie, and I for one want to hear from the queens who didn’t vote for her, and voted for trixie instead.

I agree with Xzamilloh. That’s why I think they should not have another All Stars. It seems like all 3 were created so that a certain queen could win. I’m not mad at that, but instead, what if they just nominated queens that were doing well outside of the show to be in the Hall of Fame. Then they can have a one night Gala Extravaganza that is special. The vote could be made up of 4 judges and the 5th judge vote could be a viewer voting process. It would be more fair. Then, if someone didn’t win this year, they could be nominated again.
For the record, I was team Trixie. I’m not mad she won, but I am not naive enough to think that there wasn’t some behind the scenes manipulation going on.
