I suspect that were he trying to “stay a twink” as he ages, you would find it equally off-putting. He is getting older, soft slender twinkness is attractive in the young, less so as one ages. And he is way past the point of being a heart throb for tween girls.
Personally I think he’d look a lot better with a bit less muscle mass, but he is still very handsome.

No, I don’t think it is because people are blinded by the twin culture, it is because most people are not attracted to overblown, machine distorted and grossly hardened bodies that look far from normal and rather like they are bursting from steroids. Who wants a robo man? Or one that is a mere comic book juvenile grotesque fantasy, even gay one! Yes, there will always be those who want to bed a gladiator, or Mr. World, or Mr. Gym, but usually that kind of overdevelopment, if not a factor of survival, is an indicator of something decidedly missing upstairs in the intellectual, self confidence and normal masculinity departments. You know the syndrome of people who have to wear big boots and stomp around in them, or have to wear all that gaudy jewelry or sport the most flashy sports car. Give me a natural guy who has confidence in himself and his attributes and his faults!

It’s all about proportion. Our cage (skeleton and body mass) expand as we age. All of us need to keep that in mind as we work out. Also we lose muscle mass (10% per decade, by some accounts) so aging becomes a balancing act of keeping fit and looking in proportion to our cage. Yes, the Rock muscle mass may look hot, but it’s out of proportion. Not saying that’s good or bad, just saying.

It truly is a sad day, especially since I think he’s just about the most beautiful actor in Hollywood nowadays. I don’t think he’s sexy anymore but I have dated a guy who had a muscle body and it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Unless you’re trying to achieve that look for yourself, it’s annoying. Their bodies are their whole lives. It’s all about mirrors and going to the gym and protein shakes and “am I getting fat” when they’re not. I prefer a more natural looking body.

To me, it is shame whenever anyone looks unnatural. And personally, the body type which I find by far most attractive is the naturally very slim, naturally nearly hairless, natural hair colour and natural skin tone, naturally fit but not purposefully muscled, And yes, that build is more typical in 20-year-olds than 40-year-olds but there are guys that maintain it throughout their lives, so it is not just a fetish for youth.
