“If I had one word to describe my sister, it would be ‘evil.'”
That’s Tom Troia of Janesville, Wisconsin, talking to the New York Post about his sister Kathleen Troia “KT” McFarland, who President-elect Trump just announced as his deputy national security adviser.

On Friday, Trump said in an official statement, “I am proud that KT has once again decided to serve our country and join my national security team. She has tremendous experience and innate talent that will complement the fantastic team we are assembling, which is crucial because nothing is more important than keeping our people safe.”
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
This is the same woman who outed her gay brother Michael to her parents shortly before he died of AIDS in 1995. She blamed his fate on familial abuse, and refused to see him on his deathbed.
Here’s an excerpt of the letter:
Have you ever wondered why I have never had anything to do with Mike and have never let my daughters see him although we live only fifteen minutes away from each other? He has been a lifelong homosexual, most of his relationships brief, fleeting one-night stands.”
When prodded by reporter Phoebe Eaton, all McFarland would say about the situation was “Ummm. He was sick and then he died.”

In order to quell the impact of the article, McFarland’s public advisers openly feared she’d appear homophobic, and then she began claiming she grew up in a physically abusive household.
In a statement, she wrote:
In seeking to put a painful past behind me, I wrote two candid letters to my parents in 1992 at the advice of a counselor. Now, in the midst of a political campaign, those letters have found their way into the hands of a magazine reporter.”
McFarland claims she was regularly beaten and whipped along with her brother, and reportedly says her father would often wave around a gun and threaten to kill the entire family.
“I was really living a life of going to Central Park with my kids, and he was increasingly living — there was no secret about it — he was openly gay,” McFarland says about her brother in a 2006 New York Times article.
Once they escaped their childhood home, McFarland and her brother only lived a few miles apart in New York City from 1985 to 1995.
I had no problem with [him being gay], I loved him. But I was increasingly concerned because he talked about a very promiscuous lifestyle. And it saddened me a great deal.”
In the article, she suspects the childhood abuse contributed to his “promiscuity.”
I think the abuse absolutely affected his riskier behavior, his more promiscuous — I don’t want to use the word self-destructive — is there another word like that? I don’t think it’s something that made him gay; he was always gay. That stuff leaves emotional scars on everybody, and everybody copes with it in different ways.”
McFarland tells the Times she would visit him at home or in the hospital when he was sick throughout the ’90s, but had no contact with him in the last years of his life.
Do I wish I spent more time with him? Of course I do. It’s the great regret that I have of my adult life, that I didn’t spend more time with him, that I was not with him in his final months.”
After the story was published, McFarland’s parents flagrantly denied any abuse had taken place. Her mother Edith Troia even accused New York of “casting dark shadows on this whole race.”
The New York Post asked her brother Tom Troia why she would make up these charges to which he replied, “Evil needs no reason.”

What a heartless, evil monster…
…she’ll fit in quite well with the rest of Trump’s cabinet.
ChrisK
For those that think Trump isn’t going to be bad for gay rights look at the monsters he’s hiring. Being an anti gay shithead is a prerequisite. Bottom of the barrel would be better then this evil witch.
ChrisK
Oh and the fact that’s she’s a bold faced liar that needs to blame others for her failure at any decency is no surprise either. Hell it’s a plus in that administration.
Arconcyyon
Trump is future .

I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump is just announcing picks off of a list that Pence gave him. He is probably more concerned with his popularity on Twitter and how his businesses are doing. Pence will be running the country and doing all the work Trump won’t want to do and advancing the right wing culture wars agenda that Trump doesn’t care about. Trump’s own son said the presidency is a step down for his father.
This will be a Pence presidency.

Awful. Trump is bad news. He’s been oretty silent on Ohio State too, at least from what I gather. She’s a failed sister but you, she’s not about it. They’re very indifferent and cold when it comes to gays, family or not, straight or not.
Baba Booey Fafa Fooey
*But you know, she’s not sad about it.

Reminds me of my late partner’s sister. She was cool about us being gay including any quickie one night stand sex (as she joke about it) but she moved to Pence’s state and bragged a few years ago that she and her family are now Republicans. Her brother died of AIDS in 2001 and that’s how she memorialized him?

I think you are right who said trump’s just going by a list made by Pence because these are all his dream picks not Trumps. And you’re right Trump just wants to tweet, and be popular and have fun like it’s a reality show. And make money from being in office. Pence is in a dress rehearsal for 2020. Pretty scary whether you’re gay, straight rich or poor

She’s obviously a piece of work. The more alarming thing is that someone with her, ahem, “values” is going to be advising on national security. Fasten your seatbelts.

Scum always attracts other scum. Trump works from the very bottom of the barrel because that is where Trump breathes easiest. This woman has no soul, like Trump. She is a shill for Evil, like Trump. She lacks all empathy and compassion. Just like Trump. The fact her brother was dying of AIDS might have impacted some folks negatively. But others would have ushered up sentiment of sympathy for the brother and whole basket full of pure, raw, unadulterated hatred for his bitch of a sister.
SFHandyman
I expect any quality people are expecting Trump to crash and burn, so they’d rather not be involved.
These are certainly the people Pence has talked into joining the team. They are all of his ilk. He is probably telling them he expects to be in charge so they don’t have to worry about Trump.

Trump has been to only two national security briefs. He has no interest in the briefings. I just do not know how the GOP is going to repair the party’s reputation after this guy makes a mockery of the presidency for four solid years. He could claim chest pains and get out of this nightmare. Now there is talk of undermining unions with Freidrich v. California Teachers. If the rust belt thought that they had woes, wait until Trump screws them sideways and then gives tax breaks to the top again.

I never thought that General Betrayus would be a welcome sight, but after the clown car pulled up to Trump Tower, the ol’ General is looking pretty stellar.

Disgusting bigoted inhuman bitch.

Lol at you guys blaming Trump for all the ills in the world. Blame your poor candidate Hillary Clinton.
You’re still blaming Reagan for AIDS, eh?
Brian
Kathleen was not wrong to criticize the brief, fleeting relationships of gay-identifying men. You have to admit they’re a staple of the scene.
ChrisK
@Brian: Doubling down on dipshittery for attention I see.
Transiteer
An unattractive heartless monster.

@Paco: My thoughts exactly. Trump has no idea what he is doing and will be led by Pence. All of the appointments announced so far are most likely to be Pence’s picks and when they all get into the white house they are going to ride roughshod over Trump and use him as a puppet. It is a very scary time to be gay in America.

@ChrisK: Best not feed the trolls, keeps them com’in back for more engagement.

If people are going to be promiscuous whether it’s straight or gay & not use condoms, then if they get a Venereal Disease (VD), it’s their fault-they knew the risks but chose to take them. Most smokers except for those suing the tobacco companies aren’t asking for sympathy if they get lung cancer because smokers knew the risks but still chose to smoke.
Most straight Venereal Disease (VD) victims don’t ask for sympathy. Most men who got Venereal Disease (VD) after they had sex with many women w/o using condoms aren’t asking for sympathy because they admit they knew the risks but still chose to take them. Gay victims, ask others for sympathy after they get AIDS. The truth about gay AIDS victims is that almost all of them knew the risks, but chose to take them.
Mo Bro
@abnerbha:
C’mon, everyone knows that Ronald Reagan and 1980s Republicans deliberately spread AIDS in an attempt to rid the world of the gays . . . just like they saturated the ghettos with crack and guns in their effort to annihilate the blacks . . . are you not familiar with liberal-fantasy history?
abnerbha
@Mo Bro: The late President Ronald Wilson Reagan changed from Democrat to Republican party. AIDS s a disease where if you tell the facts about gays getting this because they had promiscuous sex w/o condoms & or a drug junky, then the condemning for saying truth.
Yes, we must help people who are sick with any disease whether it’s their fault or not. If a drug junky OD or if a drunk driver gets injured, then it’s a Drs. duty to help him or her heal. HOWEVER, I can’t sympathise with a drunk driver who breaks a leg or even gets killed while drunk driving because they took a reckless risk. Once saw a case where a drunk driver was paralyzed after a wreck, while it’s far more common for drunk drivers to kill or injure their victims. As alcohol relaxes muscles that can give some protection to drunk drivers which is why it’s more common for those hit by drunk drivers to be seriously injured or killed. Our sympathies must be more with those who are injured & killed by drunk drivers.
If a smoker dies of lung cancer (have known people who have), we usu. say that while it’s bad that the smoker died, they knew the risks but chose to take them. Many smokers would ask us not to sympathize with them if they get lung cancer because they understood the harms involved. I know that people will differ with why I don’t sympathise. But it’s for the easy reason-if you take part in reckless conduct knowing the risks, then I can’t sympathize with you.
Some will talk about construction workers who do dangerous jobs, etc. My answer there is that if you do a dangerous job & if you’re not going to follow safety rules such as a construction worker who doesn’t wear safety glasses, helmet, gloves, etc. & you get seriously injured or killed, well you were negligent. Some raise the food eg. of people who eat poorly & die of heart disease, diabetes or cancer. This is more complex because you need food in order to live & with poor people, they don’t always have access to supermarkets which sell healthy foods but just bad markets. Now if you’re educated & wealthy but still choose to eat poorly, then proceed @ your own risk.
With AIDS victims, if a baby gets the disease from their mom, then yes they’re sympathetic victims just as if a person gets AIDS from a bad blood transfusion. In those cases it’s not the victims fault. But gay AIDS victims have themselves to blame. If a gay is going to be promiscuous & not use condoms incl. use drugs, then it’s his fault if he gets AIDS & I can’t sympathise with him as he knew the risks but chose to take them.
Mo Bro
@abnerbha:
Sorry, I should have elaborated that I was being purely sarcastic when I implied it was the government who spread AIDS and not the individual.

But I thought Trump loves the gays?
Price, Sessions, Troia, Haley, Carson, Pompeo, etc. Not a lot of love for the gays among this rabidly anti-gay bunch, that’s for sure! Heckuva job, gay Trump/Republican supporters. Good times, good times!
