So last night were the midterm elections and for the first time in a long time we felt a glimmer of hope for the future of American politics.
In addition to a record number of LGBTQ and female candidates winning races, a few rotten Republicans getting the boot, and several states passing progressive ballot measures, Democrats won back the House by a healthy margin, as well as several important governor races.

All in all, it was a good/almost great night Dems. And a not-so-good/borderline bad night for Republicans. But that didn’t stop Donald Trump from crowing about what a “tremendous success” the evening was for Team #MAGA.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Last night, he tweeted:
Tremendous success tonight. Thank you to all!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 7, 2018
He followed that up with a press conference this morning, where he continued to boast about how great his side did while hurling insults at reporters who dared to push back on his claims:
And now, the responses…

How do you define success? I’d venture to say that losing the House is FAILURE.

It seems like a big deal that the three states that delivered Trump the presidency in ’16 – #Michigan, #Pennsylvania and #Wisconsin – ALL elected #DemocraticGovsAndSens

Bruh, the head of your campaign, your national security advisor, your deputy campaign chairman and your personal lawyer are all awaiting sentencing on felony charges and the dems just flipped a gerrymandered house.
Tremendous success! https://t.co/fP0CRl1hXJ

Big night for Democrats. Took House Majority, turned 33 seats. Flipped 7 Governorships. Popular vote by 8%. With any other Republican President the Senate would have been a super majority for Republicans #DumpTrump

Tremendous success tonight!

I do wish the gay press would take politics more serious and stop passing off as news these nonsensical meme’s and twitter sayings. Gays love to laugh and every time things such as this get posted even more younger gay men and women see no reason to prevail upon their Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy carcass to exert itself and get INVOLVED in changing things. Too many believe if there is no laugh then it must not be important.

While I also find queerty’s reporting of tweets as news, even humorous news, to be silly: the majority of the gay press is more substantial and serious. Thankfully almost all LGBT people, even youth, get their news from a variety of sources. Almost all understand queerty is essentially entertainment.

As this man lives in a world of complete fantasy he was not going to admit any defeat. But the reality is there for all to see – on the 6th November he controlled all the power levers of government through Congress and the White House, and on the 7th he did not.
Demented demagogues like Trump have no time for reality – they only see what they want to see – and when forced to look at reality they blame everyone else for the failures. we can see this at work in the press conference the next day when the demented demagogue viciously attacked Acosta. Acosta represented one of Trump’s biggest critics in the media, the attack was symbolic of what he wants to do to CNN.
He then scampered off to Paris to escape his ‘tremendous success’ and immediately launched an attack on his hosts in an effort to make himself feel better. Unfortunately for him, no one in Europe was paying any attention to the ‘Baby Trump’ – he limped home on Sunday.
Overall, a bad week for the narcissist-in-chief. He has shown the entire world yet again what a pathetic inadequate he really is.
