The Trump Administration last night rescinded protections for transgender students made in the Obama era, and people are pissed.
The Obama protections allowed trans students to use the bathrooms and locker rooms that matched their gender identity. So one month into Trump’s presidency, the lives of some of the most vulnerable American citizens — young trans students — are being directly harmed.
It didn’t take long for a tidal wave of disgust to wash over social media. Ellen DeGeneres summed it up succinctly: “This isn’t about politics. It’s about human rights, and it’s not okay.”

How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
To the LGBTQ community, I'm sorry for the message that was sent today. They don't speak for all of us. We love you.

This should be an issue decided upon by the schools or the states. Why is that a bad thing? Trump didn’t say transgender people can’t use the bathroom of their choice, he merely stated that the schools should make that decision instead of creating a one-size-fits-all type policy for the schools.

Because kids in LA and NYC will be fine. But kids in backwards rural areas won’t be.
THAT’S why you have to make across-the-board laws.
Just like why marriage equality had to be a Supreme Court decision.
jason_melvil
Saying that you let someone else make the decision is the very definition of saying it’s wrong – because you say that someone else can say it’s wrong and you’re fine with that.
mhoffman953
@jason_melvil Not quite. It’s more of an issue of preventing the federal government from being intrusive into someone’s lifestyle or behavior. If you keep advocating that the federal government have a hand in every aspect of American life, what happens when you get an extremely conservative President who now thinks the federal government should impose a flat out ban on transgender people from using bathrooms and not allow states to decide anything? You can’t advocate for the federal government to continue to grow in power and the things they manage while assuming they will always in the future make decisions which benefit a particular community.
Leaving these decisions up to the schools to decide is essentially allowing the public to dictate how the country should proceed with the issue. If a school makes a decision which the public doesn’t agree with, then those people will petition the school and the school will respond based on the response from the public.

Caityln Jenner, your thoughts?
Keebler ILF
After Trump said he would let Caitlyn Jenner use any bathroom she wants, she now feels she was misled. She tweeted about it. “You made a promise to protect the LGBTQ community. Call me.” I guess she’s pissed that she won’t be able to piss in the ladies room anymore.
mhoffman953
@KeeblerILF Caitlyn Jenner can still piss in the ladies room in Trump Tower. This issue was about schools regarding bathrooms and locker rooms for kids from kindergarten to 12th grade
GayEGO
@mhoffman953 – But wait! Can Caitlyn hold it in that long while she travels to the Trump Tower? :>)

“This issue was about schools regarding bathrooms and locker rooms for kids from kindergarten to 12th grade”
You would not realize of course because you are too mired in the regressive’s fantasy world, but this is the first shot in the regressive’s war on intelligence and modern education that will eventually see states choosing to teach creationism, to teach history with slavery as “visiting workers” (as Texas already tried), and more. The goal is the accelerated dumbing down of the population so as to assure a “lumpen proletariat” that will be easily manipulated to vote against their own self interest, as the trumpsters already have done. The right is very suspicious of those who can think critically and have a keen eye on the world.

2 things. Trump lied and said he wouldn’t change this. And too, this is more Bannon and what Bannon wants.

Very nice thought and it is appreciable. Your things is good and we all agree about that so good going and i will visit again.

This is an outrageous attack on human rights, but it just supports our views that Trump is unfit to be our POTUS as well as many of his cabinet choices.
