Certain television shows portray Laguna Beach as nothing more than a bunch of bleach-blonde twats and their equally vapid male counterparts.
Apparently not everyone in LB revels in luxury and conspicuous retardation. We hear that California's Log Cabin Republicans persuaded the town's city council to come out against anti-gay marriage amendment.
The official press release, after the jump…
Log Cabin California leader James Vaughn:
Laguna Beach City Council Votes 5-0 to Reaffirm Opposition to Anti-Marriage Measure
Important Signal of Support Given by Laguna City Council and Republican Majority in Heart of GOP Orange County
Laguna Beach – Working with the City Council, California Log Cabin Republicans helped secure a resolution at the city council meeting this evening reiterating it’s opposition to anti-marriage equality ballot measures. The vote was 5-0 in favor of the resolution and the position was to be conveyed to the California Supreme Court which is considering a lawsuit on marriage equality.
James Vaughn, Director of California Log Cabin Republicans praised the Council, and the Republican majority in particular for their stance. “This is just one example of how working with Republicans, rather than demonizing them, can lead to education and progress for gays and lesbians. This vote, in the heart of Republican Orange County, affirms our belief that inclusion wins – especially when it means including Republicans in our efforts. “
Log Cabin Republicans, founded in California, is the nation's largest organization of Republicans, who support fairness, freedom, and equality for gay and lesbian Americans. Log Cabin has state and local chapters nationwide, a Washington office, a Sacramento office and a federal and state political action committees.

laguna beach is a town of rich hippies who love gays and the beach. plain and simple.
Applause, applause! Life is their cause. Quality of life for everyone!
I am a resident of Laguna Beach, as well as a member of Log Cabin Republicans,I can assure you not everyone in Laguna is a Hippy, wealthy yes, hippy no. Everyone should be able to have equal rights in marriage, not just between men and women, those who mix their political and religious views should just take a jump off a cliff… love is love, and marriage should be available to anyone despite sexual preference
