Gaultier’s Madonna Sketches

So it’s looking like all the horses in Madonna‘s spread in W isn’t a coincidence, but rather a theme of her upcoming tour. Horsiness has been “in” for a few seasons now, so perhaps Madonna felt is was time to bring it to the masses. These sketches by Jean Paul Gaultier, who designed Ms. M’s tour costumes, reveal a duality of tight-fittedness: disco queen on horseback. We want to love it, but it seems a little trite at this point, now that half of New York city has been walking around in leggings and knee-high equestrian boots since 2003.
