Glenn Beck Ready To Stand With GLAAD Against The “Hetero-Fascists” Of Russia

Do you know what happened last week in Russia? One of their biggest stars on television said that homosexuals should be put into the ovens alive. I didn’t think you could make the Holocaust worse but he’s like “Why the gas chamber? That seems a little too humane. Let’s put them alive in the ovens.’”

“I said on the air this week, I will stand with GLAAD. I will stand with anybody who will stand up and say that’s crazy. That’s dangerous. That’s hetero-fascism. That’s what that is. And we’re talking about Duck Dynasty. Really? Really?

Teary-eyed conservative talking head and noted gay marriage supporter Glenn Beck putting the whole Duck Dynasty debacle in perspective. A typically hyperbolic perspective, but a perspective nonetheless.

But . . . but Glenn Beck’s a Republican! A Republican who once worked for Fox News! If I’ve learned anything from this website, it’s that Republicans/Fox hate us, Republicans/Fox are evil, Republicans/Fox are the enemy, and that both exist only to destroy us and keep us from marrying.

Could this be an Obama-like “evolution” on the part of Glenn Beck?

@BJ McFrisky: No. This would be him using a more extreme case of bigotry to justify what Phil Robertson said even though it has been well established that people like Phil Robertson play a role in gay bashings and gay teen suicides. I assure you he is not on your side in any way shape or form.

Saying people shouldn’t be burned alive in ovens isn’t exactly going out on a limb.

      @BJ McFrisky:

Gee, what a chock, BJ is in here trying to once again paint the GOP as poor victims.

Beck is basically saying, lets not even worry about what the Duck Dynasty guy said because look at how much worse it is over in Russia.

Yeah, the right wing tried the same thing with DADT repeal and MArriage remember BJ? They would say, “Why should we waste time worrying about that, when the (Insert other problem here) is happening??

You try to paint the GOP as victims here, but if Glen Beck supports Marriage tell me, is he in the majority or the minority of the party? And in the last few years, which party has over and over introduced legislation to harm gay rights and which has not?

It’s also funny how you just can’t stop yourself from defending the Duck Dynasty guy in your second post. You just can’t help yourself in always defending the anti-gay bigot can you?

@BJ McFrisky: Hahaha, I like how you’ve resurfaced after you were embarrassed by the independent inquiry about Benghazi proving empirically that the Obama administration was correct.

But like all worthless people who sadly didn’t choke on their vomit over the holiday season you resurface, sadly.

How does it feel to stick up for yet another paedophile in the Duck fucker?

I’m not a Glenn Beck fan, but he’s more libertarian. He actually defended gay marriage in 2012:

Glenn Beck is a great man and one of the few people – conservative or liberal – who has stood up against Russia. Heck, even our own scummy little gay Thomas Roberts gave comfort to Russia by hosting the Miss Universe pageant there recently.

      Vivacity Glenn Beck!!!!!

Glen Beck has been an ally to Gay Marriage, and has on at least two occasions that I have seen – defended the rights of LGBT members to marry. On Fox, if you really looked at it – Glen towed the party line, but at times – went off onto tangents and points that were either not yet considered, or perhaps tolerated by the obviously Republican controlled Fox. I am not a fan of the man, as we do not share many of the same views – but I have to admit – painting him into the “He’s the same as a Mainstreamer Republican” is false, and only on queerty.com would I ever in my so-far-short life ever imagine that I would be defending the man.

That said – I think that we are being foolishly short-sighted in not being more open and accepting of him regarding this issue. We need as many allies as we can get – and this is one, a public one, one that reaches an audience that though we believe to be our enemies – also go to the polls when we do. One major ally, could spawn tonnes of little ones.

Even if you said to me that he was a virulent bigot – a noted homophobe – shouldn’t we see this as a step in the right direction? Maybe in learning more about us, and seeing more of us, he’ll become more of an ally. Maybe even if he comes away from an open dialogue with us as a community – with criticisms, at least he tried – and maybe we’ll grow a little to.

Personally, I say that even at the least – it’s a nod to an oppressed people – for the most – and open invitation to help us. Either way, we should try to reach out…

No, he’s using a series of vile events to justify taking more and more from us because “at least we are not them, look at them”, I see this as a cynical ploy by a lunatic.

Shame on people in our community for actually thinking a man who pathologically hates us, and wants us dead is forward thinking.

People like Beck are dangerous right wing nutcases.

So many haters, so little time. Obama “evolves” over to our side and he’s the Gay Hero of the Year, but Glenn Beck supports us, and he’s still nothing but “a right-wing nut job.”

      Liberal logic strikes again.

I applaud Glenn Beck. I never thought the guy was sane, but the world is full of surprises, next the world needs to wake up.

Although I applaud Glenn, I’m not stupid enough to think that the right conservative wing is not the problem here. Where is Fox News on reporting what Glenn Beck has said.

Regardless how you feel about Duck Dynasty – bottom line, just what Glenn Beck says, why is it getting more attention than Hetero-Fascism.

I think Glenn deserves around of applause, but again, It doesn’t change the fact that most of the hate and resistance for equality comes from the right. But that resistance isn’t as bad as what is going on in other countries, like Russia, and Uganda and Africa or the Middle East. This is America, let’s hope it doesn’t turn into these other nations.

Give the guy credit, but there is more work to be done. BJMcdouce bag, why are you such an ass?

@Gman23: What, pray tell, did I state in my comment that so offended your delicate sensibilities that it prompted you to call me names, Gman? Was it pointing out the hateful rhetoric in the comments that preceded mine? Was it my recognizing people’s obvious hypocrisy in praising a liberal for coming around to our side while insulting a conservative who does the same?

Or is it that you intended to show the world what an enviable wit you possess by calling me McDouche, but could only manage to come up with “Mcdouce”?

@BJ McFrisky: You see, you are not a true supporter of gay rights unless your other political views are completely in line with the far-left ideology, just like you can’t be considered a true Republican nowadays unless you are far-right religious lunatic. It just shows how deeply polarized America is. Partisan orthodoxy and extremism are the new norm, while common sense politics is akin to witchcraft.

@BJ McFrisky: Glenn Beck isn’t a republican anymore and hasn’t been for years. He’s a small government political Libertarian and has been. This isn’t an evolution to the from red to blue it’s this wonderful thing called consistency. I have my issues with Glenn Beck but he has been supportive of gays for at least the last the last six years that I know of. I don’t care what the issue is where someone is right I will stand with them, where they are wrong I will loudly protest.
