Madonna's Brother Takes To TV To Hype Book, Criticize Sister

ciccone.jpeg
Christopher Ciccone's press tour has officially begun! Best known as the brother of pop star Madonna, Ciccone's using his inside view to skewer his big sister in a new book, Life With My Sister Madonna.

Riding high on the scandal over Madge's allegedly crumbling marriage, Ciccone appeared on Good Morning America today to hype the book - and tear down his sister.

Among the charming sounds bites are some less-than-flattering words on how to get close to Madonna - sleep with her. And, yes, Ciccone again insists that Guy Ritchie's not down with the gays. In fact, Ciccone claims Ritchie's the reason he and his sister are no longer chums.

Watch it, after the jump…

I was surprised he wasn't more articulate, he did not seem to have his story too together — wonder if that's how the book is too? Seems to me he is already regretting having done the book …

What I found most telling was his response to the A-Rod rumors — it befuddled him, like he had to stop and catch his thoughts. He didn't want to say that it didn't sound like something she'd do but eventually had to concede it.

Has anyone seen 'In Bed With Madonna' / 'Truth or Dare'? He appears in that…is it me, or does he look TOTALLY DIFFERENT now?! He looks like David Gest's creepy younger brother…ok, so he's older, but he doesn't look natural to me.

Jack, we all age. It happens to the best of us. Ah, fading youth…

I can't believe he has done this to his own sister. I wouldn't be surprised if Madonna has secretly ok'd this though. All publicity is good publicity…..!

From the excerpts I have read CC seems to have been caught up in the celebrity world and hasn't received the fame or fortune he thought he would get.

I find it funny that some gays are caught up in "he's attacking Madonna" rather than "Madonna is married to a guy who hates us." To me, if true, the hate gays part is disturbing. Other than that bit of confirmation, there's nothing else there to me.

Crazylove: Maybe it's that gay people (some) are smart enough to discern that there is a difference between Guy Ritchie's behavior as described and "guy who hates us," and maybe it's that gay people (some) are smart enough to consider the agenda of the messenger…?

Poor lil' Chris Co-cainey…all his bitterness about "not getting paid" by his big Sis', nor being a part of HER spotlight has driven him to this lame excuse for a "book". All it does is make Chris look even more pathetic, childish and vindictive…which is very very sad coming from a blood relative. I'm sure Madonna will forgive him…but it's sad to see someone stoop so low for attention and (of course) $$$!!!

I actually found the interview and Christopher to be candid without hype, credible…

And I have to agree with Crazylove above that the real (and IMHO only) issue of concern in all this is Guy Richie's homophobia.

I never liked his second-rate derivative movies anyway…

Matthew-

Here's what is more likely. Madonna is an icon, and, therefore, some people make excuses.

Here's an analogy. The Clintons' actions (as recent as 2004) regarding gays versus Obama or Edwards words. In looking at the excuses and discrepancy it seemed it was more because some gays thought of Mrs. Clinton as an icon. Therefore, they gave her a pass.

Likewise, Madonna is an icon, and therefore, people make excuses and allowances they don't normally make for others. I doubt if some non-gay icon's spouse were constantly rumored to be homophobic that they would receive the same pass.

Chris says his sister is a "Catholic girl." That means she may be a pedophile, in addition to being a whore……

Crazy Love, your comment to RPCV is priceless! Only thing I took from the interview is that her brother pretty much affirms most of the "Madonna Stereotypes" that we all have heard throughout her
career. I really did not come away feeling like he was saying anything new about her. I do remember Madonna referring to her husband as "a mans man" early in her marriage too him. When she would say that it would leave me with a icky feeling. I don't doubt he's a homophobe, I mean, come on, Madonna loves gay men, need I say more?

Chris Cuomo makes me hard.

Madonna did not treat Chris well and he's angry. I'll read this book for all the backstage stories and of course her childhood, with her moms passing at age 5 :(

I'm really enjoying this book - it's a good read. I think Christopher is very straight-forward. He needed to write because it is part of HIS story, too. Into the book about 30 pages I had to put it down and cry. It is hard enough to be dealing with something as intense as your own sexual orientation in a Catholic family… Christopher doesn't make any excuses. He IS in denial about the idea that there may be hope for his Catholic-Girl sister (who does nothing but treat others like junk). He verifies what we have always known - there's something seriously wrong with Madonna, and she exploits others to cover it up.

And this will not affect her at all. She should thank him for the more ticket sales she is now getting for her Sweet & Sticky Tour"

ROCK ON MADONNA!
