Outing?

Rumor has it that CNN will soon out Missouri’s Republican Governor Matt Blunt, who is married. We – and others – have been receiving emails about it all day, although we can’t imagine a mainstream news organization grabbing the horns on such a story. Any of you guys know anything? Oh, in case you were wondering, Blunt defines marriage as one man, one woman. [STL Streetfighter]

“defines marriage as one man, one woman” just like MCcain and Obama. Good!

Is that Churchill-y or Margaret Thatcherite? Maybe the Great State of Misery will become a Swing State away from the Gay GOP and into more responsible Gay Hands of the settled down Gay Democrats. What would Anderson Cooper do?

If they are planning to out him, he must have gotten caught or paid for it or have a couple people willing to say they’ve been with him… etc. I don’t think CNN or any other major news source would just “out” someone.

3′s right. Unless some significant, McGreevey-y scandal is involved, it won’t happen. A similar buzz went down in 2004 about our big gay Governor, Rick Perry.

Anyone know if Al Sharpton has anything scheduled on CNN today?

And solely judging from his head shots: Gay.

Queerty, you got it wrong when you said “Blunt defines marriage as one man, one woman.” There is more to that sentance, Blunts view is this….”Blunt defines marriage as one man, one woman, and two leatherclad male prostitutes with paddles and cock rings”.

I heard this rumor a couple of weeks ago from a political insider. However, in this incarnation it was The Washington Post who was going to be doing the outing.

There has to be a scandal first, and it makes national news as in Haggard. CNN doesn’t just “Out” people.

I agree with the others about CNN not outing anyone without a significant reason. Unless they’ve adopted the Barney Rule and see his opposition to marriage equality as just cause.

I know they usually call it the “Frank rule,” by the way. I just like it more as “Barney” … it’s cuter when it sounds like something from PBS.

It’s a slippery slope outing people – especially on CNN.

People. Glass Houses. Rocks.

Anderson will need to watch his proverbial back is all I’m saying.

Let me put it bluntly, I would be totally surprised if M. Blunt was gay.

It would be odd for CNN to out people when Anderson Cooper sits on the set.

There is a scandal. For months Matt Blunt has been violating Missouri’s Sunshine Law which makes all government documents public. This includes emails. Matt Blunt deleted a bunch of emails (probably between him and his lover, a Springfield, MO real estate mogul). He has come under a lot of fire lately for these deleted emails as new organizations demand he disclose them under the Sunshine Law.

It`s been known/suspected for some time that there is a whole gay clique in Jefferson City (state capital) with the lieutenant governor and a couple of Cape Girardeau area politicians who are VERY good, longtime friends with none other than (ahem) Rush Limbaugh! Locals make jokes….

I hear they are having a gay govenor’s caucus at the Republican Convention. There are just too many damn closet cases in that party. Don’t they call those things a circuit party?
