"Romney Will Stop Militant Gays," Says Adviser
Matthews: Romney Politics Depend on "Geography"
Mitt Romney's flip-flopping popped up on Hardball last night.
Host Chris Matthews asked former Senator Jim Talent - who's now advising Romney - whether he thought the Republican Mormon had changed positions a bit too much. Conveniently ignoring Romney's gay-loving past, Talent insisted Romney has always worked against the "militant gays". Maybe Talent meant Don't Ask, Don't Tell?
[Romney has] always had the same position as to regards to the gay agenda. Look, he wants to know people to know he values gay people as people, okay? But he doesn’t want the militant gays to be able to change the cultural institutions of the country.He ran strongly in favor traditional marriage in 2002 when he ran for governor.
Matthews doesn't accept this explanation and points out the obvious: "He's changed on everything, hasn't he?… He's going from pro-gay to pro-gun depending on his geography." Some social conservatives agree.
To be fair, Romney hasn't changed on everything. Just social issues. His hair, however, remains the same.

I saw this bit of inflammatory nonsense last night. chris matthews was right on target. the only thing that puzzled me was the militant gays thing. I didn't know we had an army?
It would be so AWESOME if we had an army!
We would have the Most Excellent uniforms, and the very Best victory parties!
Man I want this asshat to win the Republican nomination. He's such a used car salesman that any of the top-tier Democrats would roll right over him.
Militant is what they called blacks who worked for change and equality.
Militant is what they called woman who worked to be allowed to have the basic right to vote.
Militant is what conservatives call anyone who is working for change.
He does not mind they gays - as long as they dont get all uppity and try to create a society that does not children that they are better than gay people.
They are called CONSERVATIVE for a reason.
They like how the system is right now.
They do not want change…. because they will lose status and or power. Period.
