Queerency got it wrong when he said that Joe Miller committed suicide. The coroner report showed his death was due to “asphyxiation due to nitrogen inhalation” which means that he may have died from using his own product since excessive use of poppers can be fatal or when used in conjunction with products like Viagra, but Joe was a friend of mine and I doubt that he would have killed himself intentionally. That is a conclusion that some people jumped to, but his other actions immediately prior to his death in trying to improve the community are things that point that Joe was looking to the future.

That’s even more concerning since one would hope that a man who built a business empire on a chemical product would know how to handle it properly to avoid a deadly overdose.
Poppers are interesting. I’ve used and liked them, but they’re a few and far between thing for me. The grey market status makes finding consistent poppers very iffy, and I’m generally convinced that regular inhalation of organic volatiles has bad effects long term.
The same way I enjoy a VERY occasional cigarette, I don’t want to become a habitual poppers user.
