Donald Trump Jr. is throwing in his two cents on Florida’s new “Don’t Say Gay” law, and true to form, it’s completely unhinged.
Among the fear-mongering right wing talking points we’re used to hearing by now, Trump managed to invent a whole new one — that some teachers may go “under camouflage” in order to “indoctrinate and groom” kids.
Amping up the manufactured urgency to eleven, he said: “Until we do something about it, give parents the ability to do something about it, it’s over for our kids, for their future, for their education.

“And honestly, the only reason I can think of is that you’re literally trying to indoctrinate and groom these children.
“I guess, at least they’re easy to pick out and spot for the most part. But you never know, some may go under camouflage not have blue, green, purple hair. But this stuff is insane. At least you can find them and see for yourself, but we need to do whatever we can to give parents the ability to pull their kids away from this nonsense.”
“Just my opinion, right? I’ll probably get canceled for it,” he added.
A video of the bizarre rant was posted to Twitter by former federal prosecutor Ron Filipkowski:

Surprise, surprise — folks weren’t too keen on taking parenting advice from Don Jr.
Yes, let’s get the fully grown manchild whose daddy never once even bothered to throw him a damn baseball so much as take him camping or for a damn bike ride & who’s spent his entire adult life chasing some ever elusive fatherhood fallacy to lecture people on letting kids be kids

If there’s one thing the guy dating a woman who got fired for showing dick pics at work & gave lap dances in a hot tub at a campaign fundraiser knows about it’s good parenting. pic.twitter.com/KicKwS0Oe3

Describe the process of indoctrination that occurs when an educator explains some children have two moms and some children have two dads. Can you do that Jr?
BTW, letting them ask questions about this and giving them a straightforward answer is letting them be children.

So, Jr is a specialist in child development and early childhood education? What about kids being raised by same sex couples? They aren’t allowed to talk about their parents?

I think he thinks that the only indoctrination acceptable is getting kids hooked on coke

Just like teachers donning “camouflage” will never happen, nor did the “grooming” of children either, but this is how it starts. One lemming starts a lie, the others pick up on it, spread it as if it were fact, and no amount of evidence to the contrary makes a difference. I’m really tired of our community being the perpetual punching bag for these folk, only now they believe their own lies where before you could at least bring them around to some degree of understanding.

You and I know that the Republican Party and their dimwits can’t do anything unless it starts with a lie. And sadly no one of importance is calling them on it.
GentlemanCaller
Absolutely. The thing is, every time a republican lies about something terrible that Democrats are supposedly doing (overthrowing the government, exercising unconstitutional mandates, passing laws that try to limit people’s individual freedom, palling around with criminals, running pedophile rings) it inevitably–as sure as the sun rises in the west–turns out that the republicans are up to their eyeballs in whatever shenanigans they’re accusing others of. Wastes of space, the lot of them.

Great dad just like his?!! scummy sticky creep
Polaro
He’s a terrible person, but this wasn’t “batshit crazy”, it was just misguided. I’ve seen him be batshit crazy – very different look.
The law is unnecessary and the ramifications of the law will be bad. That said, we do need a better plan for socializing LGBT people into school curriculums. Encouraging 6-year old fem Billy to proclaim he is a girl is a bad idea, but helping 6-year old children to understand that there are different kinds of people and relationships is a great idea. This ban is a missed opportunity to provide reasonable education.
GentlemanCaller
He’s always batshit crazy; just sometimes he’s less high than others. No one is encouraging 6 year old Billy to do anything. Six year olds aren’t obsessed with other peoples’ sexual activities and genitalia at all–unlike their pointy-headed trumpubliQan parents. What this bill does is shut down the normal sort of topics that come up at that age, as you suggest: Why does Billy have two daddies? for instance. Used to be the teacher could just simply explain that some families have a dad and a mom, some have two moms, and some have two dads, that families are where people love each other, and the kids, their limited curiosity satisfied, would move on to some other random question. Now, of course, the teacher in Florida has to shrug and move on to the color wheel (which, since it suspiciously resembles a rainbow, could be problematic for Floridian legislators as well).

@GentlemanCaller “He’s always batshit crazy; just sometimes he’s less high than others.” Yes, you have nailed this. Calling him misguided was probably a mistake…
bachy
Do the Republicans ever have an idea worth sharing? Or do they only distort and misinform regarding hot button topics to frighten their base into voting for them?

This a hole is always complaining about getting canceled. Can we just do that?
Kangol2
More vile, homophobic lies meant to provoke fear and divide people, with potentially deadly consequences, but this it the RepubliQan way, and Don the Con Jr., deranged as he is, knows exactly what he’s doing.

why even spotlight this dicscicle
gaym50ish
The Trumpians have no ideas about how to govern except to obstruct those who are trying. So they have to create a smokescreen for their cluelessness by ranting about culture-war issues. And it gives Fox News something to scream about so they don’t have to report real news, like a war. “Don’t say gay” is just the smokescreen du jour.

OMG that pic with his kids says so much
