Filipino actor, model, and influencer Tony Labrusca is setting the record straight about his sexuality once and for all.
Last week, the 25-year-old shared a video with his 1.4 million followers reading some of the comments people have left on his page. Among them was one that said, “You’re so gay,” and another that read, “You’re still in the closet.”
Labrusca began by saying he gets “frustrated” by comments like these because he wishes people would focus on his “capabilities” as an actor instead of who he has sex with.
To date, Labrusca has been in nine films and made nearly a dozen TV appearances in the Philippines since 2016.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
“It makes me feel like no amount of work or accomplishments that I’ve done. I feel it gets undermined,” he said.
But it’s sort of a double-edged sword because, at the same time, Labrusca says having people make assumptions about him means “people are intrigued by me at the end of the day.”
As for whether he identifies as gay, Labrusca says he hates to disappoint but “I don’t identify myself as homosexual.”
Then he adds, “But I don’t think that matters anymore. Even if I said I wasn’t gay, the people who think I am gay are going to keep believing I am gay. There’s nothing I can do that can change their minds.”
“That’s out of my control, you know what I mean?”
He continued by saying that he doesn’t think he could win either way.
“If I did say I was gay, some people still wouldn’t believe me, or some people would still hate me. They would say I’m doing it for attention, or they’ll say I’m queerbaiting.”
He concluded, “So my point is, whatever I say, whatever I do, whatever I identify as, it doesn’t matter.”
At least he doesn’t seem too bothered by any of it.

If you are pressed to care what people are saying on the internet as “an influencer and actor”….then get off the internet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Are you gay, Tony?” “Oh my, I don’t think it makes a difference either way…. I couldn’t win no matter what I say I don’t identify as …homosexual”
People still think they can get away with fancy phrasing. Nice tap dancing ya feckless ferk. So you’re bisexual or nonbinary or pan or whatever.

me thinks he doth protests too much….but the Philippines is a very conservative, catholic country, and if he did come out, he’d not have the success he has.

A gay comedian, Vice Ganda is one of the biggest tv and film stars in the Philippines. But he’s very effeminate and campy like RuPaul or Billy Porter. I dunno if a masculine gay man would have similar success.
It’s like Homer Simpson says “I like my beer cold, my TV loud and my homosexuals flaming”

No self-pride. Sad.

Yah, rag on the foreigner and not the many American actors that are still in the closet.

Who cares you aren’t hot any way!

Y’all missed by a mile the fact that Tony just finished starring in a wildly-popular Filipino Boy-Love series, Hello Stranger, an international hit, which can be viewed on YouTube.

I don’t understand this. An article about someone because he said he is not gay.
And that’s supposed to be of interest of a gay site, somebody explains my why

It comes with the territory. When famous, people are always looking to get into ones personal life. It is the nature of the beast. Best way to handle it? Ignore it. No matter what you do, it will never be enough for the public. Kind of like success. People are waiting for the bubble to pop.

Yo Tony. I’ll repeat what has been said. NO ONE CARES!

Well obviously some people are, thus there would not be a story written and people questioning him on the internet. Ironically, I am like you, I do not really care. Although, that being said, we both were both bored enough to read the article. LOL!

I don’t know anything about his sexuality or even his films, but he is gorgeous!

Some serious tap-dancing.

This just in:
Some nobody is straight.
nitejonboy
He can be straight all he wants, just stand still for a few minutes and let me do my thing, lol…but he’s a good actor too, so there’s that…kudos to him for speaking out..you go boy!!

I am as usual appalled at the level of hate thrown at him from this site. NOW, I am in no way saying queers are any worse than straight people but so many of these nasty comments prove we are certainly no better. I think he is beautiful man who has his reasons for doing this. The leader of the Philippines at this moment in history is a very sick person (sound familiar) who has a admitted gay past but now looks to punish or change all other gays in his country. It is a very scary situation over there right now as this is the same leader who had the cops murdered anyone with even the smallest connection to drugs murdered even casual users. I wish this young man well and would think all other thinking gay people would as well but I keep being disappointed by my countrymen
