whomp, whomp

Just when we didn’t think things could get worse for Truth Social, this happened…

More terrible news for Donald Trump‘s failing social media app Truth Social.

The company’s chiefs of technology and product development, Josh Adams and Billy Boozer, have both reportedly left the company amid reports of technical issues and other behind-the-scenes chaos.

Boozer ran oversaw the technology infrastructure, design, and development teams. But it’s Adams’ departure, in particular, that insiders say is most alarming. An unnamed source tells Reuters that he is the “brains” behind all of Truth Social’s technology.

“If Josh has left,” they said, “all bets are off.”

Last week, a report by Sensor Tower revealed Truth Social has seen a 93% drop in new signups since going live on President’s Day last month. The app has seen downloads fall by more than 800,000 in just a few weeks, with installs on the Apple app store dropping to barely 60,000 per week.

On top of that, weekly visits by people who already have the app have fallen to 1.9 million, from a high of 6 million when it first launched.

Per the Daily Beast:

In recent weeks, sources have heard the former president on the phone swearing gratuitously and asking things like, “What the f*ck is going on” with Truth Social.

He’s repeatedly groused about the negative press and the less-than-stellar optics of the rollout, these sources said. And he’s demanded to know why more people aren’t using it—why the app isn’t swiftly dominating the competition.

Both Adams and Boozer worked one level below Wes Moss and Andy Litinsky, two former castmates on Trump’s reality show “The Apprentice” who the ex-president tapped to help run the company last summer.

Reuters notes that neither of the men list Truth Social on their LinkedIn profiles, so it’s unclear when exactly they started working for the company. Also unclear is whether the company has found replacements for them. We’re sure the positions will be filled by only the best people.

Now, some tweets…
