Lady Bunny Refuses To Be Censored In Her Latest One-Woman Show

Wigstock founder Lady Bunny definitely doesn’t hold back in her latest one-woman show. In Trans-Jester, which premiered in April, the drag legend takes on our increasingly politically correct queer culture, embracing and re-appropriating homophobic terms, and eviscerating Caitlyn Jenner to the tune of “These Are a Few of My Favorite Things.”

“The tools of a comedian are word,” Bunny explains in The New Yorker’s short video profile on the show. “In a comedy club, yeah, you’re gonna use one of those words. That’s all there is to it!” Needless to say, she has no patience for trigger warnings and micro aggressions. “You don’t make it go away by not saying its name.”

The show has been getting rave reviews from the likes of Refinery29 and Time Out New York, with everyone from Susan Sarandon and Andy Cohen to Patricia Field and Bianca Del Rio flocking to performances. You can catch Trans-Jester at the Stonewall Inn through November 11.
