I expect folks like Kim Kardashian to use Twitter to mitigate their feuds, but Neil Patrick Harris? The How I Met Your Mother star, upset with The Young And The Restless‘s Eric Braeden, who apparently abandoned a cameo spot at the last minute. Should we wait another hour for NPH to claim this was just a LOL?
UPDATE: Braeden responds with: “It’s very unfortunate. First of all, I came back from hip surgery. I was off for three weeks. I’ve doubled my work, 30 to 50 pages a day for me, alone. Everyone knows that I’m exhausted. I was not about to appear on a show for two lines, because that’s what it amounted to. … [Harris’] choice of words bothered me. It seems to me like a young whippersnapper, having seen himself on a few covers, who’s received a few awards, is now suddenly suffering from the first signs of hubris. I’ve been in the business for 50 years. I’ve seen people come and go and I’m still here.” NPH soon added: “Now I feel bad for the D-bag comment. Don’t know the guy personally. I’m just fiercely protective of our show.”

I love How I Met Your Mother and Neil Patrick Harris, but this really made me loose some respect for him. It was really unprofessional and just plain rude. Eric Braeden was on the show before, he plays the father of Robin (one of the main characters and Harris’s love interest). What a rude thing to do.
Also Braeden has since responded by saying he was fatigued and recovering from hip surgery and Harris has apologized.

I’m still stymied by the fact that anyone thinks Eric Braeden can act. He can’t act; he has been Victor Newman for so long, he is thoroughly incapable of doing anything else. He rambles in a monotone, and when he gets angry, he shouts. This is not Strasberg, folks. Remember him in “Titanic”? Astor certainly didn’t jump off the screen. In fact I would say THAT role was “not substantial enough.”

A) Anyone is shocked about an aging soap star being a diva. That’s like caring about the sun rising in the east and setting in the west.
B). The Young and the Restless is still on the air. I thought soap operas were dead and buried. Even my Mom doesn’t watch them anymore, and she was watching them before the Beatles came to America.

I was pretty nastily turned down by Eric Braeden’s people for an interview a few years back. Funnily enough, Melody Thomas Scott’s publicist agreed and she was probably one of the nicest celebrities I’ve ever talked to and written a story for. (for those who may not watch Y&R, Melody plays Eric Braeden’s wife on the show)
