What was he inking?

Neil Patrick Harris’s new tattoo? It’s so unfortunate.

Netflix has decided to pick up “A Series of Unfortunate Events” for another season, and Neil Patrick Harris decided it was an occasion worth celebrating.

The actor, who portrays the nefarious Count Olaf, decided the best thing to do was get a tattoo. No word on whether or not he was sober when the idea struck him.

On Instagram, Harris wrote:

“We got picked up for Season 2 of A Series of Unfortunate Events. I got this to celebrate.”

The photo features his new ink, carved onto his ankle by Brooklyn-based artist Anderson Luna.

As Huffington Post reports,  the tattoo is a reference to the show and book series; the symbol of the Volunteer Fire Department, which is, in fact, a fantastical secret society — and that’s all we’ll tell you about that.
