An anti-masker from Ohio had an on-camera meltdown inside a Planet Fitness facility. But it’s not her atrocious behavior that’s got everyone talking. Unfortunately for her, her antics have been upstaged by the super hot personal trainer she’s yelling at.
The video was first uploaded to Reddit last week. It shows the woman, later identified as Anna Peric, shouting at a personal trainer and a security guard after they politely inform her that she needs to wear a mask inside the facility, per a state mandate issued by the governor.
“I have limited time to exercise,” Peric shouts, “and all you’re doing right now is cutting into my freedom of liberty! I want to exercise! I pay to exercise!”
Karen, er, Peric then goes on to claim people who are exercising are exempt from the mask mandate.

“When you came in you did not have a face mask on,” the personal trainer tells her. To which Peric responds by saying he’s making her feel uncomfortable, “If you could please leave me alone so I can exercise, because, at this point, I feel like I’m being harassed.”
Commenters on Reddit were quick to condemn Peric for being awful… And to praise the personal trainer for remaining so calm and collected during the exchange.
“This employee’s patience turns me on,” one person wrote.
To which someone else replied, “Wall calendar idea: ‘Patient employees of Planet Fitness.'”
“I mean he’s pretty hot regardless,” another person added. “I’m a straight male btw.”
But the showering of compliments didn’t stop there.
“He looks handsome as f*ck,” one person observed. “I’m like just point the camera at him so this is a little more bearable.”
“He’s a gentle giant and I’d like him to carry me over the threshold,” someone else commented.
“I hadn’t even watched or clicked the audio yet and my first thought was ‘damn he’s cute,'” yet another person wrote.
One person said he looks like Ricky Martin. Another called him a hunk. And another said they want to follow him on Instagram.
“You can tell he’s sexy AF even with the mask,” someone remarked. “No, ESPECIALLY with the mask!”

Yeah, she’s annoying but she may be legally right. During the short time my gym reopened before having to close again, it was social distancing that was enforced and not masks. A sign on the door saying, “Please wear a mask” sounds like a request not a requirement.

She is right, the mask order in Ohio does state as long as social distancing occurs the mask order does state that she doesn’t have to wear a mask, even indoors. That said, if PF wants her to wear a mask that’s their right. If she won’t comply it’s their right to ask her to leave as its private property and they can refuse service to whomever they like for any reason they see fit. Bottom line is as a private entity they can require whatever they please and it does not even have to be posted on the door or be worded that it’s a requirement.
If she was not so busy trying to play the victim she would have just said “the sign on them door didn’t say they were required. Do you have one I can use?” And the whole thing wouldn’t have spiraled out of control in the first place.

No, she is not correct because she acknowledged the mask requirement by protesting that she doesn’t need one while exercising. If she didn’t think that a mask was required ever, because it was just a suggestion, she would have just stated that. The trainer then correctly pointed out that she didn’t have one even when she just came in. She then changed her story, claiming that there’s no proof that masks work — and that she would only wear one of they proved their efficacy TO HER SATISFACTION.
In other words, the supposed exercise exemption has no bearing on this because she didn’t have a mask and never had any intention of wearing a mask, regardless of whether she was exercising. Furthermore, she acknowledged that there was a mask requirement posted on the door, and not a mere suggestion, by saying that it limited her liberty.

I know I am going to get some nasty feedback and I believe in wearing masks when out in public at all times, even when exercising, but, sadly, she is partially right, the policy of Planet Fitness is, “masks are now required except while actively working out.” I don’t know the state she is in, but the government policy may well also contain an exception while working out. (I would put the link to the Planet Fitness website with the policy, but we can’t put links in our comments.) The Planet Fitness policy also states, “This means that a mask must be worn at all times, and in accordance with local restrictions, in the club (except while actively working out) including when entering and exiting the facility, in between machines and exercises on the gym floor, cleaning, and while in the locker room and NOT behind a private enclosure such as a shower or tanning room. While you are actively working out, you do not need to have a mask on.”
She is dead wrong about the science. Wearing a mask indisputably helps slow the spread of the Trump Virus. There also isn’t any reason to exempt those exercising from wearing a mask as they do not interfere with oxygen intake.

Here in Hawaii, 2 gyms shut down because one “positive a symptomatic” person who visited both of them, infected numerous members working out. I suppose the deep inhaling and exhaling while exercising really spreads the disease. The same person later went on to an airline staff meeting, infecting people there (one flight attendant died from it). So social distancing alone, while in a gym working out, ain’t gonna protect you.
The worker said that he was concerned about possibly carrying Covid home to his elderly mom. This concern “for others” makes him a prince, no matter how he looks. Sadly, that concern went right over this woman’s “self centered” consciousness.

Nor will she have one in the locker room, rest room or anywhere else in the facility where she is NOT exercising. As an aside, many gyms also explicitly prohibit recording inside its facilities. So this moron has potentially open herself to a lawsuit for posting this video.

How it’s stated at that time was a request not stating a mandate, but now more states are doing the mandate for a mask, but where I am as is a few others here in this state, we’ve had a mandatory mask for being out in any public place and now it’s anytime you go outside you must have a mask on and to enter a building or business you have to be wearing a mask. I have lung problems and I wear a mask when I go outside to go anywhere even to check my mail or visit a next door neighbor and I worry more about them than I do myself for I never know who’s been to the house or where that person(s) been or been around nor what they have been doing.

Ok so this is bad…the gym I go to, you have to wear a mask when you go in but for some reason don’t enforce it when you workout. Now the times I’ve gone, management wasn’t there. My gym is a strip mall gym not like the big ones where there is more than one person working. Some people workout without a mask on! I have mine “on” but pull it down when I’m by myself working out. I do put it back up when I walk around the gym.

There’s a reason masks should be required in addition to social distancing and hand sanitizer. When you exercise, you exhale hard. That expels respiratory droplets which is contained by a mask. Neither social distancing nor hand sanitizer prevents your droplets from resting on the exercise equipment, which can infect the next user. Furthermore, the 6′ distance is based on normal talking, not strong exhalation. Several studies show that in such scenarios, 6′ is not enough. Indeed, the fact that you also inhale strongly while exercising increases the risk of infection. Hence, the requirement of masks while exercising is a good idea.
For those who claim that it impedes breathing, the effect appears to be psychological. A study showed that in healthy individuals, masks do not affect the blood oxygen saturation level.
