On Saturday, August 18, more than 15,000 LGBT people and their allies enjoyed great weather, eye-catching floats and an amazing sense of community at Copenhagen Pride.
More than 80 floats made their way down Vesterbrogade to Rådhuspladsen, including contingents sponsored by British Airways and Microsoft, and ones with the Lord Mayor of Copenhagen Frank Jensen, and Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt. (We know Obama is good for the gays, but we can’t imagine him marching in a Pride parade.)
After the march, a Pride concert included performances by Sound, George Michael Jam, Diva Dean and a host of drag queens covering ABBA and Eurovision Song Contest entries. Other Pride week highlights included the Mr. Gay Pageant and Pride Square, a central hub for debates, talks, music, skits and food.

How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

thank you for not having obnoxious “1 photo per page load’ anymore.
I hope this continues. I use ad blocker so I don’t see your crap ads anyway, but it’s a big annoyance and time wasting to load the whole bloated page again to look at another picture.

I’m wondering why you felt the need to reference a dog breed when writing the title to this piece.
Is it really necessary to “snide” up every single article?
Why not simply “Danes let the rainbow shine at Copenhagen Pride”?
Why “great danes”?

I’m actually feeling quite emotional that Queerty changed so that you don’t have to keep opening new pages for photos. Thanks guys. I know we rag on you a lot, but you run a fun, innovative website here and am glad you can respond to criticism.

Multiple photos per page should make people happy.
Queerty, please don’t ever quit what #2 is complaining of; it’s that sort of personality that distinguishes this from other sites.

@Freddie27: spot on

I’m have a question for any danish gays. I’m curious to know about you’re queen and what you think of you’re monarchy. Also are their any open or secret gay members of the royal family?

@brent..European Royalty and royal households have their share of gay people scattered liberally around but they have to be very discrete..Monaco, UK, Holland, and Denmarks closets are no doubt brim full with gay members of the family..Usually they marry and produce to perpetuate the lineage and keep their gay identity hidden..There have been fairly widely reported incidents regarding the British Monarchy even quite recently but super injunctions keep a lid on things..
All monarchy these days are merely figure heads of state and whilst I can’t comment on the Danish Queen,Margrethe II of Denmark, the Queen of England is an amazing woman who has my undying respect..Damn she works hard and she is well into her late 80’s and still going strong..Long may she reign.
