They’re not actually f***ing. It is possible for people of the same sex to have a deep friendship without being attracted to each other. People are attracted to each other in all sorts of ways. You don’t necessarily want to [sleep with] someone because you love them. They respect each other, they bring different things to their friendship… It’s a friendship. Way more has been made in the ether of that relationship than has ever been put in the show. The trouble is as soon as you start getting into a dialogue about that, it sounds like you‘re somehow being homophobic.”
— Martin Freeman, who costars in Sherlock as Watson opposite Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular detective, discussing the possibility of fan-desired romance between the two characters in an interview with The Sun

Friends are ok.
Friends with benefits even better 🙂

He’s right: it does sound kinda homophobic when you say it like that. I’ve watched one episode ever cuz I can never find out when it’s actually on and don’t care enough to stream it yet, though I did like it for the record, but it sounds like he’s pissed that like the “wrong people” are fans of his show, like it’s bringing down the property value in the neighborhood. idk how fancy you think you are, but getting over yourself might be healthy. Or don’t do interviews with dumb bitches planning to bug you about it.

it looks pretty gay to me! I watched it all the way through. There is an almost obsessive love between Sherlock who claims to have love but one woman. Watson married a beard and Sherlock was heartbroken when he gave the toast.
John Malin
Never thought they were.

Martin Freeman is quite correct on this. Male-male relationships can have many different shades to them. I always thought the best male-male relationships were built on trust and mutual masturbation. Nothing more than that, of course.
Avery Alvarez
Of course that’s the official narrative, but that won’t stop fan fiction. Just like the idiot from 1direction who bitched and whined about fan fantasy, get over it, and get some cheese for all that wwwhhhhiiiinnnneeeeeee.

Here’s what pisses me off there are so many subtle nuances wher holmes treats Watson like his bf. I believe Watston is str8 but Holmes has an intended hint although subtle, but its still there. Second when did actors decide what there characters are, thats a job called writer. It would never occur to the character Watson that Holmes is gay and I bet they are going accelerate that to some degree

if you watch there is signs of affection from Holmes to Watson, I;m not someone who thinks everybody is gay. But the gay story line could easily be developed.
