The Old Spice Guy Is Now Making Anti-Masturbation Videos. Sounds Credible.

“Most of you who are on Facebook are using the internet,” says actor and Old Spice-guy Terry Crews in the opening of one of his videos about the dangers of pornography.

And if that statistic sounds a little fuzzy, just wait until you get to the real meat of his argument.

Porn “changes the way you think about people. People become objects. People become body parts. They become things to be used rather than people to be loved,” says Crews from personal experience.

He’s teamed up with the Mormon anti-porn group “Fight the New Drug” to share his message of salvation in the hopes of….what? Getting people to stop watching porn? Good luck.

He continues:

“Every time you look at pornography is a desire for intimacy. You are trying to fight your feelings of being alone by filling it with pornography in an attempt to feel that you are with someone and you know someone. But the problem is pornography is an intimacy killer.”

Thank you Dr. Crews. We really prefer to get all our psychological advice from people in deodorant commercials.

So what do actual doctors say about so-called “porn addiction”?

Well, the The American Psychiatric Association — which, to be fair, has never appeared in a deodorant commercial to our knowledge — says there’s no such thing. They refused to include it in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders — the guide that helps psychiatrists identify and treat diseases.

But please, let’s hear more from guy form a commercial vlogging from his car:
