Troye Sivan may be a force to be reckoned with.
After appearing in films like X-Men: Origins: Wolverine and Spud, the multi-talented 20-year-old now has his sights set on breaking through the music scene.
He’s working on his debut studio album, and along the way has just completed a sonic/video trilogy called “Blue Neighborhood” as part of his Wild EP.
“Talk Me Down” is the third installment, rounding out a story of homophobia, childhood longing and so much angst it hurts. One thing the project does not do is make us want to be 20 again. Yikes.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Still, it’s an ambitious endeavor for the young out entertainer, and we’re guessing we’ll be hearing his name again in the future.
Below are the three videos in the series:

not bad for a Jewish boy 🙂

crushingly beautiful. this has been, for too long, a too-common story of anti-gay Americana. and Sivan captured it perfectly.

We all went through this when we were young. Heartbreak <3 :'(
He has been a positive model for Gay youth. The videos are definitely not upbeat.

I wasn’t feeling those first two… but he got me with the third song. I absolutely love it.

It is a touching video and too often becomes reality. I wonder if this video isn’t telling young people that if love fails, you might as well take your life. That is what I got out of it. WE need to let young people realize that suicide is NOT the answer and that life can go on and be okay. Losing a first love is very difficult, but it is NOT the end of the world, despite how bad we feel when it happens.
