WATCH: Flash Mob Helps Gay Man Propose In Central Park

We’re suckers for a good flash mob video, but flash mob videos that end with a gay marriage proposal are the absolute best.

On May 11th, Drew visited the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park with his boyfriend Carl’s mother. He had no idea that the flash mob forming in front of him would eventually lead to him getting hitched, but we’re pretty sure he got the picture once Carl arrived and pulled him into the middle of it!

It’s great to see happy things like this in New York, given the recent string of horrific hate crimes. Just check out all these awesome people that watched, and clapped!

I hoped they paid the required royalties for that public performance of Christina Perri’s song.

And thanks for reminding me that because I’m not a muscle head living in a major metropolitan city I’m going to die old and alone.

      You’re an asshole.

While your comment about royalties is fitting, if you die old and alone that’s your own fault. We’re all the captains in this ship we call life. If you are unhappy in your current situation or feel it prohibits you from other forms of happiness, you have the right and ability to change it. Choosing not to do so is, in fact, a choice.

Unfortunately, spreading negativity isn’t going to change anything.

What an absolutely amazing video! I hope this video goes viral – and that those who
believe that being gay is a choice or that gay marriage undermines “traditional” marriage, will see and feel the clear love and devotion these two people feel for each other!

I wish I thought of this idea! But, I live in a state where i can’t marry my partner YET! But i’m holding out hope that the Supreme Court will help change that. If not in June, but sooner than later!

Very sweet. Where they’d find all those great women dancers? Are they friends? Almost no guys. I did get teary eyed, just like the mom. But I hope the guy who did the proposing doesn’t talk that much all the time. Thought he’d never get done.

Captain Fabulous – what happened in your life to make you such a bitter, jaded queen? Whatever your answer, GET OVER IT! The only thing holding you back from finding love in your own life is your nasty attitude. To me, this video shows me how incredible and beautiful it can be when two human beings decide to love one another. This will always true regardless of gender and physical fitness.

These flash mob things are fun to watch, but this one went on way too long for the big question.

      Good luck to you guys.

@gppm1103: Actually I should have said his speech was too long. But he meant it.

@CaptainFabulous: It’s your snarky attitude is what’s going to make you old and die alone not the physicality of these guys in another city/state/coast.

Exhibitionists. I still don’t understand why these personal things have to be done in public like this. You need a witness to get married, but not engaged. Cute couple, though. Good luck to them.
