‘Twas a night of a thousand ridiculously toned butt cheeks, gyrating and pas de bourreéing all over Roseland Ballroom on Sunday. Over 200 hoofers brought the United States to theatrical life for Broadway Bares XXIII: United Strips of America, raising nearly $1.5 million for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS in the process. Special guest stars included Adam Lambert, Judith Light, Andy Cohen, Alan Cumming and Billy Porter, Tony in hand. Literally. He pulled it out and a wave of screams erupted from the audience. Well, from us anyway. And for exclusive backstage photos click here.

Never thought I would say this, but I have finally maxed out on male strippers (yes, I know know they are Broadway dancers) and underwear models. This combined with the Andrew Christian boys is just not feeling in anyway authentically sexy to me. More vulgar than titillating. I know we (gay dudes) have always loved to look at naked men, but there is something about the current wave of in-you-face objectification that reminds me more of old time burlesque queens than anything related to maleness. I am no prude and have a full sex/romantic life so no need to flame me for that.
