Clay Aiken used to really, really annoy me. But then I found out about his break up, and also how he started using his celebrity for some decent causes, like homosexual rights. And now he’s continuing the trend with UNICEF, putting together this spot pleading for aid for Pakistan.
I guess it’s better late than never for you to realize it, but Clay Aiken has ALWAYS used his ‘celebrity’ for good causes. He started back in 2003 when he started his own Foundation and he continues to work for the good of others all the time.
Now that you say he doesn’t really annoy you any longer, you should check out everything that Clay has done and has been involved with since 2003. I think you would be pleasantly surprised.

Clay Aiken has quietly been supporting UNICEF and children since 2004 when he became a UNICEF Ambassador. Clay has made field trips to:
Indonesia
Somalia
Uganda
Afghanistan
Mexico ( took mom and brother and they all worked with flood victims on Christmas)
I am always sad when I realize that most people don’t know all the good things that Clay Aiken has done. As most of us know, he is visiting countries where being gay could cost him his life.
Yes, Clay Aiken marches to his own drummer, yet his heart is in the right place and he has made the world a better place!

Clay has been a Unicef ambassador since 2004, I believe, and has traveled all over the world for them, Somalia, Uganda, Indonesia, Afghanistan …. This is an important cause as many innocent children are without food, clothes, medical care, and many without parents.

Clay has been a U.N. Ambassador since 2004, and has travelled the world helping children. Plus his own foundation since 2003. I find it strange that you seem to rate his breakup with his boyfriend higher than what you should have been noticing about Clay…
He’s a good man who has given his time for many causes. I guess it’s better late than never for you to notice.
Pakistan needs our help right now, and it doesn’t surprise me at all for Clay to be sending out the message. It’s what he does.

Did you really not know that Clay Aiken has been a UNICEF ambassador since 2004? Or does it not fit into your agenda for him. This is not the first time he has campaigned to help suffering children. What I find ‘annoying’ is that you have to insult this good man at every turn as he continues using his voice to make a difference in this world. Thank you Clay and UNICEF for caring!

I wish the media would do their own homework. Instead of actually doing research, they would know Mr. Aiken started his own foundation in 2003 for inclusion. In addition to being a Unicef Ambassador for years.
Maybe they get more interest by taking pot-shots at someone because of a certain look or just repeat what they’ve heard some lame nighttime talk show host say.
