DC Drag Queens Hit The Road At The Annual High Heel Race

As they have for 25 years, amateur and professional drag queens in the Nation’s Capital donned their best stilettos, pumps and slingbacks for the annual High Heel Race in Dupont Circle. A precursor to Halloween, the beloved event drew some 70 runners who hobbled, leapt and sprinted down 17th Street as thousands of straight and gay onlookers cheered everyone on. “People just think D.C. is just a lot of politicians,” race organizer David Perruzza told the Washington Post. “This is one of the prime examples of why it’s such a fun city.” In the clip below, our friends at the Swish Edition give us the play-by-play at the 2011 High Heel Race.     These people insist on slithering out from under their respective rocks at least once a year, but why glorify them? Horrible, horrible images to put out there for so many reasons.

    Good lord! These people are just having fun and btw, it IS Halloween time. Maybe you two sour-pusses can get together to see what else you can complain about, I’m guessing it will be about how many ailments you both have at your advanced ages.
