Does It Count As Coming Out If Queen Latifah Puts Her Girlfriend’s Name on the Deed?

Queen Latifah (born: Dana Owens) and her “trainer” Jeanette Jenkins have purchased a new $1.4 million Los Angeles estate. It’s a 3-bed, 2.5-bath den of heterosexual Hollywood.

They make a sweet couple and it seems like it is very serious of Miss Q is putting her partners name on the deed of such an expensive house. Good for them…..now, Queen, how about giving her a shout out at the next BET awards or Emmy Awards? :)

I think the girlfriend’s name is on other property, if I recall. They have been together for quite some time.

When I worked as a financial advisor, I advised my gay clients that the words “Joint Tenants With Rights of Survivorship” on a deed and the words “In irrevocable trust for (name)” on a bank account are the closest we get to marriage.

Joint ownership of real estate seals the deal for me.

I thought Queen latifa was already out. If she came out now I really wouldn’t care. I’m pretty sure everyone caught the drift.

She can afford a 1.4 million dollar house, but she refuses to pay me back the money that she owes from canceling the concert that I booked her for in Miami Beach 2 1/2 years ago.
The b*@tch canceled and left me with all of the bills!
Her manager admitted to me that he double booked her a the concert and a Covergirl commercial the same day.
Headaches, stress, lawyers and 2 1/2 years later. Still nothing from Queen La-THEIF-ah!

I don’t like Queen Latifah at all. She appears to be one of these women who is trying to have it both ways: doesn’t want to offend heterosexual Hollywood yet still wants the affections and attentions of the gay community.

I adore Queen Latifah; she’s brilliant. But I do wish she’d come out publicly and just say “…and if you don’t like it, go frack yourself!”

@jason: You don’t like her at all because she’s a black woman…and you’re a racist, lesbian hating misogynist.

Being a personal Manager myself, I know how this game works.
You can go after Lafifah for he next 10years and you will still be in the same place you are now, with nothing. It’s the managers fault, not Latifah’s. If what you are saying is true, and depending on the contract signed, the manager owes you money, not Lafifah. In most cases the manager is responsible for booking their acts and making sure their acts schedule is free for them to make the engagement. And according to you, he “admitted” that he doubled booked her that day.

From what you wrote, Lafifah did nothing wrong and therefor owes you “nothing.” Go after the right person (manager) and good luck to you.

Why does she need to publicly come out just because some of you want her to?

Every single person posting nasty comments about gay celebrities who are clearly in the closet are on par with homophobes and straight people who out their family members.

@Cam: It would seem that we need to remember that famous people are just people with extra ordinary jobs. It it THEIR BUSINESS and no one else what they are doing in there personal life. How the hell is the QUEEN getting on a soap box saying “I’m a Lesbian” going to help u. Tackle your own battle and redirect your energy to something more positive. PEACE.
