George Michael says he hasn’t had an HIV test for at least three years — as he’s terrified of the result.The gay singer, who likes cruising for men and was nicked for lewd behaviour in an LA loo, reveals all to pal Stephen Fry in a BBC2 documentary.
Ross Wilson, producer of Stephen Fry — HIV and Me, said: “George says he does not believe in tests.
“He says he finds the wait for results too harrowing and that he hasn’t had a test since at least 2004 due to his fears it might be positive.â€
Again: George Michael’s a fucking idiot. And, again, to Enrique Iglesias – you need a new gay adviser.
I’m not sure to trust a rag like The Sun on a subject like this.
I agree, the Sun is notoriously homophobic, takes a particular dislike to George Michael, better to wait for the documentary before make a judgement. Unless queerty hopes to reinforce the Sun’s intention.
Well, I certainly hope he would get a test. He may fear he has HIV, but if he actually does and refuses to find out, he could lose years and years of his life. So, ya, that’d be pretty stupid… if the Sun can be trusted. I hope they’re wrong.
Even if the Sun is a tabloid, I worry about the kind of message being sent to people. George Michael needs to wake up and realise that he’s not just an individual. He’s a role-model, someone people, kids, look up to. Instead of showing his fear of getting tested, rather he should set an example by going for regular testing. Everyone needs to know their status, gay, straight, lesbian, whatever. I get tested bout 4 times a year, and I’m not even having sex! (I’m a blood donor… but they test your blood, so it counts!).
Either way… not testing… it’s bad news. And if the Sun is lying, then they’re still sending a shit message, and should realise the damage they could cause before it’s too late.
