Here’s Barack Obama’s Statement on Iran’s Protesters. Huh, Where’s Barack Obama’s Statement on Uganda’s Gays?

APTOPIX Obama

SOUNDBITES — “The United States joins with the international community in strongly condemning the violent and unjust suppression of innocent Iranian citizens. What is talking place within Iran is not about the United States or any other country. It is about the Iranian people and their aspirations for justice.” —President Barack Obama, in comments just made from his family vacation in Hawaii, on the the protesters in Iran, further making it glaringly obvious that he has not mentioned one thing about condemning Uganda’s Kill The Gays bill (oh, does this count?), in what will be an unjust suppression of innocent gay Ugandan citizens, and their aspirations for justice. Or is that why he’s got Hillary?

obama is a frenemy to gays.

and, he is deliberately tragicomically “post-racial”.

that makes him dually mute on black homohaters in uganda…shame!!!

No Queerty “this” doesn’t count, in fact how could anyone call “this” a statement, even worse it was a Friday night news dump.

It’s such a shame, we could have had a qualified, competent woman President that did not make such strong efforts to distance her self from the gay community. It’s as if we don’t exist, in fact it feels the same as it did under Bush.

Easter Egg rolls don’t cut it. Sure it’s nice to be invited but we are not included in America under this administration. Why are our rights not important to this administration?

Barry and Rahm have put gays on the bottom of their list. Wait until they start making public statements about civil rights for illegal immigrants, and making sure it is next on the Obama legislative agenda. Appalling.

Re: Immigration, of coarse the gays have been thrown overboard in the new immigration reform bill. Think Obama will notice? My bet is no!

Obama is a massive fraud when it comes to gay rights. Rahm Emmanuel, whom I perceive to be bisexual, is a nasty piece of work who designs strategies that avoid giving the appearance of a pro-gay administration.

Nobel Prize announced, Obama on the front lawn of the White House to give a speech wihin an hour.

Terrorists try to kill on Christmas, Obama takes 3 days and 8 hours to make a 6 minute speech.

Face it. Obama is all about Obama.

I’m with Wondermann, you all need to stay on track here. There is lots of awful shit happening in the world, and Obama commenting on the disgusting campaign by Iran’s military junta against protestors deserves our attention. Uganda’s gays won’t be ignored either.

Sorry guys, but you are wrong. It was Obama himself who stood up in front of tens of thousands of supporters when he accepted the Democratic nomination, Obama who campaigned for, practically 4 years, saying over and over again, that NOW is the time to tackle: ending the war in Iraq, stopping terrorism in Afghanistan, health care reform, jobs, economic recovery, ENDING DADT, REPEALING DOMA, WELCOMING GAYS/LESBIANS into the national community, ending torture, yadda, yadda, yadda.

It was Obama who went to Hollywood and reminded the gay power brokers that Bill Clinton left LGBT us behind with enacting DADT, signing DOMA. It was Obama who promised “Hope”; it was Obama who promised “Yes We Can”. It was Obama who said HE was our friend NOT Hillary.

I, and millions of others, jumped on that bandwagon. Jumped on with great enthusiasm, true hope, and excitement that my country, our country, had a great chance to undo the terrible results of the previous 8 years and the many years of Republican hate on our community. And, for the first time in my life, with the Carter/Reagan election, I was voting for someone I WANTED to vote for and WANTED as my president.

Well, is turns out that there is NO HOPE to repeal DOMA or DADT; the latest is that it might be taken up next year; yeah, right, in a bi-election year. With the lack-of-balls leadership from the White House and Congress, sure they’ll tackle gay issues in an election year. Turns out the accurate slogan is NO WE CAN’T! After the bi-election, well, its presidential election time again, so, we’ll be fucked, and not in the fun way, once again.

Just because George Bush and his ilk are vile, does not mean that Obama isn’t an asshole and a fraud.

Oh, and I want my primary election vote and my $200 back.

For the 2012 election; there is not a single Republican talked-about contender to vote for, and, to me, there isn’t an incumbent to vote for. I know that a vote for an independent or 3rd party will not get one of them elected, but, except for those special edge playtimes, I am not a sadist, so no, I will not vote for Obama again.

Where’s Barack Obama’s statement on Uganda’s gays? Queerty inquired?

Surely, no one on these threads is holding their breath waiting for one?

His silence on all issues gay, is loud and clear as to his position on them.

What’s to stay “on track”?

The Obama train derailed ages ago, in case y’all haven’t noticed.
