HI Gov. Abercrombie Chooses Lesbian For Supreme Court

Sabrina McKenna, who becomes Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie’s first state Supreme Court nominee, is a big gay. While the governor is quick to point out he didn’t select McKenna because of her sexuality, and McKenna says she’s speaking openly about her sexuality to show how much of a non-issue it is, a word of advice, gurl: Don’t go calling yourself a a “wise lesbian” or anything. (NB: The news arrives the same week the state’s Senate Judiciary Committee, in a 3-2 vote, sent a civil unions bill to the full Senate for a vote.)

This is a huge story, having an OUT Lesbian on the Hawaii Supreme Court. Congratulations to her, and great appointment by the new Democrat Governor. To those gays who think that it does not matter which party you vote for, this is a sea change since the Republican Linda Lingle left office less than a month ago.

When civilized society begins to unravel, it keeps unraveling. LGBT is another “civic sin.”
